The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2165
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "One day, I had the honor of seeing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a dream at midday. His hair was disheveled and there was dust on his blessed body. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a bottle in his hand and was searching for something in it. I asked, 'O Messenger of Allah! What is this?' He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, 'This is the blood of Husayn and his companions, I have been searching for it since morning.' The narrator of this Hadith, 'Amr, says that we memorized that date. Later, we came to know that Sayyiduna Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred on that very date and day (when Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) had seen the dream)."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے ایک مرتبہ نصف النہار کے وقت خواب میں نبی ﷺ کی زیارت کا شرف حاصل کیا، اس وقت آپ ﷺ کے بال بکھرے ہوئے اور جسم پر گرد و غبار تھا، آپ ﷺ کے پاس ایک بوتل تھی جس میں وہ کچھ تلاش کر رہے تھے، میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! یہ کیا ہے؟ فرمایا: ”یہ حسین اور اس کے ساتھیوں کا خون ہے، میں صبح سے اس کی تلاش میں لگا ہوا ہوں۔“ راوی حدیث عمار کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے وہ تاریخ اپنے ذہن میں محفوظ کر لی، بعد میں پتہ چلا کہ سیدنا امام حسین رضی اللہ عنہ اسی تاریخ اور اسی دن شہید ہوئے تھے (جس دن سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے خواب دیکھا تھا)۔
Sayyidina Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine ek martaba nisf un nihar ke waqt khwab mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki ziyarat ka sharaf hasil kiya, us waqt Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke baal bikhre hue aur jism par gard o ghubar tha, Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas ek botal thi jis mein woh kuch talaash kar rahe the, maine arz kiya: Ya Rasul Allah! Yeh kya hai? Farmaya: "Yeh Hussain aur uske saathiyon ka khoon hai, mein subah se iski talaash mein laga hua hun." Rawi hadees Umar kahte hain ki humne woh tareekh apne zehn mein mahfooz kar li, baad mein pata chala ki Sayyidina Imam Hussain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) usi tareekh aur usi din shaheed hue the (jis din Sayyidina Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne khwab dekha tha).
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَنَامِ بِنِصْفِ النَّهَارِ، أَشْعَثَ أَغْبَر، مَعَهُ قَارُورَةٌ فِيهَا دَمٌ يَلْتَقِطُهُ , أَوْ يَتَتَبَّعُ فِيهَا شَيْئًا، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ:" دَمُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ، لَمْ أَزَلْ أَتَتَبَّعُهُ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمَ" , قَالَ عَمَّارٌ: فَحَفِظْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ قُتِلَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ.
