The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2176
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Ta'if, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) besieged the people of Ta'if, two of their slaves came out and joined the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set them free, and one of them was Sayyidina Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to free all the slaves of the polytheists who came to him.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے غزوہ طائف کے دن جب اہل طائف کا محاصرہ کیا تو ان کے دو غلام نکل کر نبی ﷺ سے آ ملے، نبی ﷺ نے انہیں آزاد کر دیا، جن میں سے ایک سیدنا ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے، اور نبی ﷺ کا معمول تھا کہ مشرکوں کے ان تمام غلاموں کو آزاد کر دیا کرتے تھے جو نبی ﷺ کے پاس آ جاتے تھے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Ghazwa Taif ke din jab ahle Taif ka muhasira kiya to un ke do ghulam nikal kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se aa mile, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unhen aazaad kar diya, jin mein se ek Sayyidna Abubakarah Raziallahu Anhu bhi the, aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka mamul tha ki mushrikon ke un tamam ghulamon ko aazaad kar diya karte the jo Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pas aa jate the.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ خُنَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" حَاصَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهْلَ الطَّائِفِ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدَانِ، فَأَعْتَقَهُمَا" , أَحَدُهُمَا أَبُو بَكْرَةَ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْتِقُ الْعَبِيدَ إِذَا خَرَجُوا إِلَيْهِ.
