ومن مسند بني هاشم
The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2218
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that an Ansar man apostatized and joined the polytheists. Upon this, the following verse was revealed: “How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief...” [Al-Imran: 86] "How can Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief......." His people conveyed this verse to him, and he repented and returned. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) accepted his repentance and let him go.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک انصاری آدمی مرتد ہو کر مشرکین سے جا ملا، اس پر یہ آیت نازل ہوئی: «﴿كَيْفَ يَهْدِي اللّٰهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ . . . . .﴾ [آل عمران: 86] » ”اللہ اس قوم کو کیسے ہدایت دے گا جس نے ایمان کے بعد کفر کیا ہو . . . . .۔“ اس کی قوم نے اسے یہ آیت پہنچا دی اور وہ توبہ کر کے واپس آگیا، نبی ﷺ نے اس کی توبہ قبول فرما لی اور اس کا راستہ چھوڑ دیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik ansari aadmi murtad ho kar mushrikeen se ja mila is par ye ayat nazil hui: "Kaifa yahdee Allahu qawman kafaroo ba'da imaanihim....." [Aal Imran: 86] "Allah is qaum ko kaise hidayat dega jisne imaan ke baad kufr kiya ho....." Iski qaum ne ise ye ayat pahuncha di aur wo tauba kar ke wapas aa gaya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne iski tauba qubool farma li aur iska rasta chhor diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ :" أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ارْتَدَّ عَنِ الْإِسْلَامِ، وَلَحِقَ بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى كَيْفَ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ سورة آل عمران آية 86 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ، فَبَعَثَ بِهَا قَوْمُهُ، فَرَجَعَ تَائِبًا، فَقَبِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ، وَخَلَّى عَنْهُ".
