The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2252

It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) prayed facing Baitul-Maqdis for sixteen months, after which the direction of the Qibla was changed.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ اور آپ کے صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے بیت المقدس کی طرف رخ کر کے سولہ ماہ تک نماز پڑھی ہے، بعد میں قبلہ کا رخ تبدیل کر دیا گیا۔

Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Radi Allaho Anhuma se marvi hai ke Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam aur Aap ke Sahaba Radi Allaho Anhum ne Baitul Muqaddas ki taraf rukh kar ke solah mah tak namaz parhi hai, bad mein qibla ka rukh tabdeel kar diya gaya.

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا، ثُمَّ صُرِفَتْ الْقِبْلَةُ بَعْدُ".
