Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22574
It is narrated by Abu Qatada (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while on a journey with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I saw a zebra. I quickly mounted my horse, grabbed my spear, and hunted it down. Some of the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) who were in the state of Ihram ate from it. Later they were struck with fear. I, or someone else, asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Did you signal it? Or help in the hunt? Or lay in wait for it?". The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "No." So the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted them to eat it.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ سفر میں تھے میں نے ایک گورخر دیکھا توجلدی سے اپنے گھوڑے پر سوار ہوگیا اور اپنا نیزہ پکڑا اور اسے شکار کرلیا جسے کچھ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے جو حالت احرام میں تھے " کھالیا بعد میں وہ خوف کا شکار ہوگئے میں نے یا کسی اور نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس کے متعلق سوال کیا نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا تم نے اشارہ کیا تھا؟ یا تعاون کیا تھا؟ یا گھات لگائی تھی؟ صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے عرض کیا نہیں تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے وہ کھانے کی اجازت دے دی۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke sath safar mein the mein ne aik gorakhhar dekha to jaldi se apne ghore par sawar hogaya aur apna neza pakra aur use shikar karliya jise kuch sahaba Radi Allaho Anhum ne jo halat ehram mein the "kha liya" baad mein woh khauf ka shikar hogaye mein ne ya kisi aur ne Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam se iske mutalliq sawal kiya Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya kya tum ne ishara kiya tha ya taawun kiya tha ya ghat lagai thi sahaba kiram Radi Allaho Anhum ne arz kiya nahin to Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne woh khane ki ijazat de di.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ " أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي مَسِيرٍ لَهُمْ، فَرَأَيْتُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ، فَرَكِبْتُ فَرَسًا، وَأَخَذْتُ الرُّمْحَ، فَقَتَلْتُهُ، قَالَ: وَفِينَا الْمُحْرِمُ، قَالَ: فَأَكَلُوا مِنْهُ، قَالَ: فَأَشْفَقُوا، قَالَ: فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ قَالَ: فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: أَشَرْتُمْ، أَوْ أَعَنْتُمْ، أَوْ أَصِدْتُمْ؟ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: لَا أَدْرِي، قَالَ: أَعَنْتُمْ، أَوْ أَصِدْتُمْ , ثُمَّ قَالُوا: لَا , فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِأَكْلِهِ" .
