Hadith of Abu Qatada al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22604
It is narrated by Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, on the occasion of one of his Umrahs, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent us with an army towards Saif-ul-Bahr and it was decided that we would meet at a place called "Qadeed". So we left, some of us were in the state of Ihram and some were not, I was among those who were not in the state of Ihram. Then he (Abu Qatadah) narrated the whole Hadith and said, "What remained of it, I roasted it well and cooked it properly." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Bring it to me." I presented it before him and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) started eating it by nibbling it with his teeth (as it is easily digestible), while he was in the state of Ihram, until he finished it.

حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیں اپنے کسی عمرے کے موقع پر ”سیف البحر“ کی طرف لشکر کے ساتھ روانہ فرمایا اور ہم سے یہ طے کرلیا کہ مقام "" قدید "" میں ملاقات ہوگی چنانچہ ہم روانہ ہوگئے ہم میں سے کچھ لوگ محرم اور کچھ غیر محرم تھے غیر محرموں میں میں بھی شامل تھا پھر انہوں نے مکمل حدیث ذکر کی اور فرمایا کہ اس میں سے یہ دستی بچی ہے جسے میں نے خوب اچھی طرح بھون کر پکایا ہے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اسے لے کر آؤ میں وہ لے کر حاضر خدمت ہوا تو نبی کریم ﷺ اسے دانتوں سے نوچ کر کھانے لگے (کہ یہ زود ہضم ہوتا ہے) جبکہ نبی کریم ﷺ حالت احرام میں تھے یہاں تک کہ اس سے فارغ ہو گئے۔
Hazrat Abu Qatada Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne humein apne kisi umre ke mauqe par Saif-ul-Bahr ki taraf lashkar ke sath rawana farmaya aur hum se ye tay kar liya ki maqam "Qadeed" mein mulaqat hogi chunancha hum rawana ho gaye hum mein se kuch log muhrim aur kuch ghair muhrim the ghair muhrimon mein main bhi shamil tha phir unhon ne mukammal hadees zikar ki aur farmaya ki is mein se ye dasti bachi hai jise maine khoob achi tarah bhoon kar pakaya hai Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ise lekar aao main woh lekar hazir khidmat hua to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ise danton se noch kar khane lage (kyunke ye zood hazam hota hai) jabke Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) halat ehram mein the yahan tak ke is se farigh ho gaye.
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْبَدُ بْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ ، قَالَ:" بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى سَيْفِ الْبَحْرِ فِي بَعْضِ عُمَرِهِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ، وَوَعَدَنَا أَنْ نَلْقَاهُ بِقُدَيْدٍ، فَخَرَجْنَا وَمِنَّا الْحَلَالُ وَمِنَّا الْحَرَامُ، قَالَ: فَكُنْتُ حَلَالًا، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ , قَالَ: وَفِيهِ هَذِهِ الْعَضُدُ قَدْ شَوَيْتُهَا وَأَنْضَجْتُهَا وَأَطْيَبْتُهَا، قَالَ:" فَهَاتِهَا قَالَ فَجِئْتُهُ بِهَا، فَنَهَسَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ حَرَامٌ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْهَا"..
