Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22692
It is narrated on the authority of Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever fights in the way of Allah, but his intention is to get a rope from this Jihad, he will get only that which he intended.”

حضرت عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا جو شخص اللہ کے راستہ میں جہاد کرے لیکن اس کی نیت اس جہاد سے ایک رسی حاصل کرنا ہو تو اسے وہی ملے گا جس کی اس نے نیت کی ہوگی۔
Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya jo shakhs Allah ke rastay mein jihad kare lekin uski niyat is jihad se ek rassi hasil karna ho to usay wohi milay ga jiski usne niyat ki hogi.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَيْ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " مَنْ غَزَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ لَا يَنْوِي فِي غَزَاتِهِ إِلَّا عِقَالًا، فَلَهُ مَا نَوَى" .
