Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22769
Ismail bin Ubaid Ansari, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates a hadith saying that Ubadah, may Allah be pleased with him, said to Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, “O Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him! You were not with us when we were pledging allegiance to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. We pledged allegiance to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to listen and obey in all circumstances, whether we are active or lazy, "to spend in prosperity and adversity", to enjoin good and forbid evil, "to speak the truth about Allah and not to care about the blame of the blamer in this matter," and to help the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in his arrival in Medina and to protect him like our own lives, wives and children, in exchange for which we were promised Paradise. This is the pledge that we made to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Now, whoever breaks it, he harms himself, and whoever adheres to this pledge, then Allah Almighty will fulfill the promise made to him through the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.” Then Amir Muawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote a letter to Uthman Ghani, may Allah be pleased with him, that “Due to Ubadah bin Samit, may Allah be pleased with him, Sham and the people of Sham are revolting against me. Now either you call Ubadah, may Allah be pleased with him, to you or else I will withdraw from between them and Sham.” Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote to him in response to this letter that “You send Ubadah, may Allah be pleased with him, with full respect riding towards his house in Medina.” So Muawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him, sent him off and he reached Medina. He went to Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, at his house, where there was no one from the previous people except for one man. He found the group of Companions, may Allah be pleased with them. When Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, came, he was sitting in a corner of the place. He turned to him and said, “Ubadah! What is the matter between you and us?" He stood up in front of the people and began to say. “I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying, 'After me, such people will be your rulers who will introduce you to such deeds which you will consider disliked and they will dislike such deeds which you consider good. So whoever disobeys Allah, it is not necessary to obey him and you should not turn away from your Lord.

اسماعیل بن عبید انصاری رحمہ اللہ ایک حدیث ذکر کرتے ہوئے کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا کہ اے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ! آپ اس وقت ہمارے ساتھ نہ تھے جب ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ سے بیعت کر رہے تھے ہم نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے چستی اور سستی ہر حال میں بات سننے اور ماننے " کشادگی اور تنگی میں خرچ کرنے " امربالمعروف اور نہی عن المنکر کرنے " اللہ کے متعلق صحیح بات کہنے اور اس معاملے میں کسی ملامت کرنے والے کی پرواہ نہ کرنے اور نبی کریم ﷺ کی مدینہ منورہ تشریف آوری پر ان کی مدد کرنے اور اپنی جان اور بیوی بچوں کی طرح ان کی حفاظت کرنے کی شرط پر بیعت کی تھی جس کے عوض ہم سے جنت کا وعدہ ہوا یہ ہے وہ بیعت جو ہم نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے کی ہے اب جو اسے توڑتا ہے وہ اپنا نقصان کرتا ہے اور جو اس بیعت کی پاسداری کرتا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس سے نبی کریم ﷺ کے ذریعے کیا ہوا وعدہ پورا کرے گا۔ ادھرامیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے حضرت عثمان غنی رضی اللہ عنہ کو خط لکھا کہ حضرت عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ کی وجہ سے شام اور اہل شام میرے خلاف شورش برپا کر رہے ہیں اب یا تو آپ حضرت عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو اپنے پاس بلا لیجئے یا پھر میں ان کے اور شام کے درمیان سے ہٹ جاتا ہوں، حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس خط کے جواب میں انہیں لکھا کہ آپ حضرت عبادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو مکمل احترام کے ساتھ سوار کروا کر مدینہ منورہ میں ان کے گھر کی طرف روانہ کردو چنانچہ حضرت معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں روانہ کردیا اور وہ مدینہ منورہ پہنچ گئے۔ وہ حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس ان کے گھر چلے گئے جہاں سوائے ایک آدمی کے اگلے پچھلے لوگوں میں سے کوئی نہ تھا اس نے جماعت صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو پایا تھا حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ جب آئے تو وہ مکان کے ایک کونے میں بیٹھے ہوئے تھے وہ ان کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا عبادہ! تمہارا اور ہمارا کیا معاملہ ہے؟ وہ لوگوں کے سامنے کھڑے ہو کر کہنے لگے۔ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ میرے بعد ایسے لوگ تمہارے حکمران ہوں گے جو تمہیں ایسے کاموں کی پہچان کرائیں گے جنہیں تم ناپسند سمجھتے ہوگے اور ایسے کاموں کو ناپسند کریں گے جنہیں تم اچھا سمجھتے ہو گے سو جو شخص اللہ کی نافرمانی کرے اس کی اطاعت ضروری نہیں اور تم اپنے رب سے نہ ہٹنا۔
Ismail bin Ubaid Ansari rehmatullah alaih ek hadees zikar karte hue kehte hain keh Hazrat Ubadah razi Allah tala anhu ne Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah tala anhu se farmaya keh aye Abu Hurairah razi Allah tala anhu! Aap us waqt hamare saath na the jab hum log Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se bai't kar rahe the hum ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se chusti aur susti har haal mein baat sun-ne aur maan-ne " kushadgi aur tangi mein kharch karne " amr bil ma'ruf aur nahi anil munkar karne " Allah ke mutalliq sahi baat kehne aur is mamle mein kisi malamat karne wale ki parwah na karne aur Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki Madinah Munawwarah tashrif awari par un ki madad karne aur apni jaan aur biwi bachchon ki tarah un ki hifazat karne ki shart par bai't ki thi jis ke awaz hum se jannat ka wada hua ye hai wo bai't jo hum ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ki hai ab jo ise torta hai wo apna nuqsan karta hai aur jo is bai't ki pasdari karta hai to Allah tala us se Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke zariye kya hua wada pura kare ga. Udhar Amir Muawiyah razi Allah tala anhu ne Hazrat Usman Ghani razi Allah tala anhu ko khat likha keh Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit razi Allah tala anhu ki wajah se Shaam aur ahle Shaam mere khilaf shorish barpa kar rahe hain ab ya to aap Hazrat Ubadah razi Allah tala anhu ko apne paas bula lijiye ya phir main un ke aur Shaam ke darmiyaan se hat jata hun, Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu ne is khat ke jawab mein unhen likha keh aap Hazrat Ubadah razi Allah tala anhu ko mukammal ehteraam ke saath sawar karwa kar Madinah Munawwarah mein un ke ghar ki taraf rawana kardo chunanche Hazrat Muawiyah razi Allah tala anhu ne unhen rawana kar diya aur wo Madinah Munawwarah pahunch gaye. Wo Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu ke paas un ke ghar chale gaye jahan siwaye ek aadmi ke agle pichhle logon mein se koi na tha us ne jamaat sahaba razi Allah tala anhum ko paya tha Hazrat Usman razi Allah tala anhu jab aaye to wo makan ke ek kone mein baithe hue the wo un ki taraf mutawajjah hue aur farmaya Ubadah! Tumhara aur hamara kya mamla hai? Wo logon ke samne khade ho kar kehne lage. Maine Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai keh mere baad aise log tumhare hakmaran honge jo tumhen aise kaamon ki pehchan karayenge jinhen tum napasand samajhte hoge aur aise kaamon ko napasand karenge jinhen tum achcha samajhte ho gaye so jo shakhs Allah ki nafarmani kare us ki ita'at zaroori nahi aur tum apne rabb se na hatna.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، فَقَالَ عُبَادَةُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، إِنَّكَ لَمْ تَكُنْ مَعَنَا إِذْ بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِنَّا" بَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِي النَّشَاطِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَعَلَى النَّفَقَةِ فِي الْيُسْرِ وَالْعُسْرِ، وَعَلَى الْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهْيِ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ، وَعَلَى أَنْ نَقُولَ فِي اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَلَا نَخَافَ لَوْمَةَ لَائِمٍ فِيهِ، وَعَلَى أَنْ نَنْصُرَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا يَثْرِبَ، فَنَمْنَعُهُ مِمَّا نَمْنَعُ مِنْهُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَأَزْوَاجَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَنَا وَلَنَا الْجَنَّةُ، فَهَذِهِ بَيْعَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّتِي بَايَعْنَا عَلَيْهَا، فَمَنْ نَكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِمَا بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَفَّى اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى بِمَا بَايَعَ عَلَيْهِ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَكَتَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ: أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ قَدْ أَفْسَدَ عَلَيَّ الشَّامَ وَأَهْلَهُ، فَإِمَّا تُكِنُّ إِلَيْكَ عُبَادَةَ، وَإِمَّا أُخَلِّي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الشَّامِ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ رَحِّلْ عُبَادَةَ حَتَّى تُرْجِعَهُ إِلَى دَارِهِ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَبَعَثَ بِعُبَادَةَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ فِي الدَّارِ، وَلَيْسَ فِي الدَّارِ غَيْرُ رَجُلٍ مِنَ السَّابِقِينَ أَوْ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ، قَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْقَوْمَ، فَلَمْ يَفْجَأْ عُثْمَانُ إِلَّا وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ فِي جَنْبِ الدَّارِ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ، مَا لَنَا وَلَكَ؟ فَقَامَ عُبَادَةُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَيْ النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ:" إِنَّهُ سَيَلِي أُمُورَكُمْ بَعْدِي رِجَالٌ يُعَرِّفُونَكُمْ مَا تُنْكِرُونَ، وَيُنْكِرُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَا تَعْرِفُونَ، فَلَا طَاعَةَ لِمَنْ عَصَى اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى، فَلَا تَعْتَلُّوا بِرَبِّكُمْ" .
