The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2324
It is narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the night of Miraj, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Paradise and heard a soft sound on one side. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Gabriel, what is this?" Gabriel (peace be upon him) replied, "This is Bilal, your Mu'adhdhin (caller for prayer)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), after returning, told the people, "Bilal has succeeded. I have seen such and such things for him." Anyway, on the night of Miraj, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met Musa (Moses, peace be upon him). He welcomed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), saying, "Welcome, O unlettered Prophet!" He was a tall, wheat-colored man with straight hair that reached his ears or beyond. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Gabriel, who is this?" He replied, "This is Musa (peace be upon him)." Moving a little further, he met Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him). He also welcomed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Gabriel, who is this?" He replied, "This is Isa (peace be upon him)." Moving further ahead, he met an awe-inspiring and majestic elder. He also welcomed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and greeted him like everyone else. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Gabriel, who is this?" He replied, "This is your father (forefather), Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him)." On the same journey of Miraj, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also saw Hell. There he saw a group eating corpses. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Gabriel, who are these people?" He replied, "These are the people who eat the flesh of others (backbite)." There, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also saw a red-complexioned man with curly hair, and if you were to see him, he would appear disheveled. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, "Gabriel, who is this?" He replied, "This is the unfortunate one who cut off the legs of the camel of Prophet Salih (peace be upon him)." Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Masjid al-Aqsa, he stood up to offer prayer. When he turned around, he saw all the prophets behind him, offering prayer in his congregation. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer, two cups were brought to him, one from the right and one from the left. One contained milk and the other honey. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took the cup containing milk and drank from it. The angel who brought the cup said, "You have chosen the natural disposition."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ جس رات نبی ﷺ کو معراج کی عظیم سعادت عطا ہوئی، آپ ﷺ جنت میں داخل ہوئے اور اس کی ایک جانب ہلکی سی آہٹ سنی، نبی ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”جبرئیل! یہ کیا ہے؟“ عرض کیا: یہ آپ کا مؤذن بلال ہے، نبی ﷺ نے واپسی کے بعد لوگوں سے فرمایا تھا کہ ”بلال کامیاب ہو گئے، میں نے ان کے لئے فلاں فلاں چیز دیکھی ہے۔“ بہرحال! شب معراج نبی ﷺ کی ملاقات حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام سے ہوئی، انہوں نے نبی ﷺ کو خوش آمدید کہتے ہوئے کہا: «مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الْاُمِّيِّ»، وہ گندمی رنگ کے طویل القامت آدمی تھے جن کے بال سیدھے تھے اور کانوں تک یا اس سے اوپر تھے، نبی ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”جبرئیل! یہ کون ہیں؟“ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں، کچھ اور آگے چلے تو حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام سے ملاقات ہوئی، انہوں نے بھی نبی ﷺ کو خوش آمدید کہا، نبی ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”جبرئیل! یہ کون ہیں؟“ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یہ حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام ہیں۔ کچھ اور آگے چلے تو ایک بارعب اور جلیل القدر بزرگ سے ملاقات ہوئی، انہوں نے بھی نبی ﷺ کو خوش آمدید کہا اور سلام کیا جیسا کہ سب ہی نے سلام کیا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”جبرئیل! یہ کون ہیں؟“ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یہ آپ کے والد (جد امجد) حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام ہیں۔ اسی سفر معراج میں نبی ﷺ نے جہنم کو بھی دیکھا، وہاں ایک گروہ نظر آیا جو مردار لاشیں کھا رہا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”جبرئیل! یہ کون لوگ ہیں؟“ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو لوگوں کا گوشت کھاتے (غیبت کرتے) ہیں، وہاں نبی ﷺ نے ایک سرخ رنگت کا آدمی بھی دیکھا جس کے گھنگھریالے بال تھے، اور اگر تم اسے دیکھو تو وہ پراگندہ معلوم ہو، نبی ﷺ نے پوچھا: ”جبرئیل یہ کون ہے؟“ انہوں نے بتایا کہ یہ حضرت صالح کی اونٹنی کے پاؤں کاٹنے والا بدنصیب ہے۔ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جب نبی ﷺ مسجد اقصی میں داخل ہوئے تو آپ ﷺ نماز پڑھنے کے لئے کھڑے ہو گئے، لیکن جب نبی ﷺ متوجہ ہوئے تو وہاں سارے نبی آپ ﷺ کی اقتدا میں نماز ادا کر رہے تھے، جب نبی ﷺ نماز سے فارغ ہوئے تو آپ ﷺ کے پاس دو پیالے لائے گئے، ایک دائیں طرف سے اور ایک بائیں طرف سے، ایک میں دودھ تھا اور دوسرے میں شہد، نبی ﷺ نے دودھ والا برتن لے کر دودھ پی لیا، وہ پیالہ لانے والا فرشتہ کہنے لگا کہ آپ نے فطرت سلیمہ کو اختیار کیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki jis raat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko Miraj ki azeem saadat ata hui, Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Jannat mein dakhil hue aur uski ek jaanib halki si ahat suni, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pucha: ”Jibraeel! Yeh kya hai?“ Arz kiya: Yeh Aap ka muazzin Bilal hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wapsi ke baad logon se farmaya tha ki ”Bilal kamyab ho gaye, maine unke liye falan falan cheez dekhi hai.“ Beharhaal! Shab e Miraj Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki mulaqat Hazrat Musa Alaihissalam se hui, unhon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko khush aamadeed kehte huye kaha: «Marhaban bin nabiyyil ummiyyi», woh gandumi rang ke tawil ul qamat aadmi the jinke baal seedhe the aur kaanon tak ya uss se upar the, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pucha: ”Jibraeel! Yeh kaun hain?“ Unhon ne bataya ki yeh Hazrat Musa Alaihissalam hain, kuchh aur aage chale to Hazrat Isa Alaihissalam se mulaqat hui, unhon ne bhi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko khush aamadeed kaha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pucha: ”Jibraeel! Yeh kaun hain?“ Unhon ne bataya ki yeh Hazrat Isa Alaihissalam hain. Kuchh aur aage chale to ek barub aur jaleel ul qadar buzurg se mulaqat hui, unhon ne bhi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko khush aamadeed kaha aur salaam kiya jaisa ki sabhi ne salaam kiya tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pucha: ”Jibraeel! Yeh kaun hain?“ Unhon ne bataya ki yeh Aap ke walid (jad e amjad) Hazrat Ibrahim Alaihissalam hain. Isi safar e Miraj mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne jahannam ko bhi dekha, wahan ek giroh nazar aaya jo murdar lashon kha raha tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pucha: ”Jibraeel! Yeh kaun log hain?“ Unhon ne bataya ki yeh woh log hain jo logon ka gosht khate (ghaibat karte) hain, wahan Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek surkh rangat ka aadmi bhi dekha jiske ghungrale baal the, aur agar tum usse dekho to woh Praganda maloom ho, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pucha: ”Jibraeel yeh kaun hai?“ Unhon ne bataya ki yeh Hazrat Saleh ki untni ke paon kaatne wala badnaseeb hai. Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ki jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Masjid e Aqsa mein dakhil hue to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz padhne ke liye kharhe ho gaye, lekin jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mutwajjah hue to wahan sare Nabi Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki iqtida mein namaz ada kar rahe the, jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz se farigh hue to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas do piyale laye gaye, ek dayen taraf se aur ek bayen taraf se, ek mein doodh tha aur dusre mein shehad, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne doodh wala bartan le kar doodh pi liya, woh piyala lane wala farishta kehne laga ki Aap ne fitrat e saleema ko ikhtiyar kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن أَحْمَد: وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مِنْهُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِنَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، فَسَمِعَ مِنْ جَانِب?هَا وَجْسًا، قَالَ:" يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَا هَذَا؟" , قَالَ هَذَا بِلَالٌ الْمُؤَذِّنُ , فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّاسِ:" قَدْ أَفْلَحَ بِلَالٌ، رَأَيْتُ لَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا" , قَالَ: فَلَقِيَهُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَلاَمَ، فَرَحَّبَ بِهِ، وَقَالَ: مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ , قَالَ: فَقَالَ:" وَهُوَ رَجُلٌ آدَمُ طَوِيلٌ، سَبْطٌ شَعَرُهُ مَعَ أُذُنَيْهِ، أَوْ فَوْقَهُمَا" , فَقَالَ:" مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟" , قَالَ هَذَا مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام , قَالَ: فَمَضَى فَلَقِيَهُ عِيسَى، فَرَحَّبَ بِهِ، وَقَالَ:" مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟" , قَالَ: هَذَا عِيسَى , قَالَ: فَمَضَى، فَلَقِيَهُ شَيْخٌ جَلِيلٌ مَهِيبٌ، فَرَحَّبَ بِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ، وَكُلُّهُمْ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ:" مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟" , قَالَ: هَذَا أَبُوكَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ , قَالَ: فَنَظَرَ فِي النَّارِ، فَإِذَا قَوْمٌ يَأْكُلُونَ الْجِيَفَ، َقَالَ:" مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟" , قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ لُحُومَ النَّاسِ , وَرَأَى رَجُلًا أَحْمَرَ أَزْرَقَ جَعْدًا شَعِثًا إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُ، قَالَ:" مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟" , قَالَ: هَذَا عَاقِرُ النَّاقَةِ , قَالَ: فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ الْأَقْصَى قَامَ يُصَلِّي، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ , فَإِذَا النَّبِيُّونَ أَجْمَعُونَ يُصَلُّونَ مَعَهُ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ جِيءَ بِقَدَحَيْنِ، أَحَدُهُمَا عَنِ الْيَمِينِ، وَالْآخَرُ عَنِ الشِّمَالِ، فِي أَحَدِهِمَا لَبَنٌ، وَفِي الْآخَرِ عَسَلٌ، فَأَخَذَ اللَّبَنَ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ الَّذِي كَانَ مَعَهُ الْقَدَحُ أَصَبْتَ الْفِطْرَةَ.
