Hadith of Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
حَدِيثُ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 23268
Thalaba bin Zaid narrated that once we were with Sa'eed bin 'Aas in Tabaristan. He asked the people, "Did any of you offer the Salat-ul-Khauf (prayer offered by the Prophet while being threatened by the enemy) with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" Hudhaifa said, "I did." He then described the same method that has been narrated from Ibn 'Abbas and Zaid bin Thabit.

ثعلبہ بن زہدم کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ طبرستان میں حضرت سعید بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہمراہ تھے انہوں نے لوگوں سے پوچھا کہ تم میں سے نبی کریم ﷺ کے ساتھ صلوۃ الخوف کس نے پڑھی ہے؟ حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا میں نے پھر انہوں نے بعینہ وہی طریقہ بیان کیا جو حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ اور زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے۔
Salba bin Zahdam kehte hain keh ek martaba hum log Tabristan mein Hazrat Saeed bin Aas Radi Allaho Anhu ke hamrah thay unhon ne logon se poocha keh tum mein se Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ke sath Salat al-Khauf kis ne parhi hai Hazrat Huzaifa Radi Allaho Anhu ne farmaya main ne phir unhon ne bainah wahi tareeqa bayan kya jo Hazrat Ibn Abbas Radi Allaho Anhu aur Zaid bin Sabit Radi Allaho Anhu se marvi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بنِ أَبي الشَّعْثَاءِ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ ثَعْلَبةَ بنِ زَهْدَمٍ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ سَعِيدِ بنِ الْعَاصِ، بطَبرِسْتَانَ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّكُمْ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ : أَنَا، فَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ: فَوَصَفَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ ابنِ عَباسٍ، وَزَيْدِ بنِ ثَابتٍ.
