The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2349
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was on a journey. He stopped during the last part of the night and slept, and did not wake up until the sun had risen. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered Sayyidina Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to give the call to prayer. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the two rak'ahs (units of prayer). Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say that if I were to be given the world and all that it contains in exchange for the concession of shortening prayers that we have been given, I would not be happy.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کسی سفر میں تھے، رات کے آخری حصے میں آپ ﷺ نے پڑاؤ کیا اور سو گئے اور آنکھ اس وقت تک نہیں کھلی جب تک سورج نہ نکل آیا، نبی ﷺ نے سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو حکم دیا، انہوں نے اذان دی، پھر نبی ﷺ نے دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے تھے کہ رخصت کی جو سہولت ہمیں دی گئی ہے، مجھے اس کے بدلے میں اگر دنیا و مافیہا بھی دے دی جائے تو میں خوش نہ ہوں گا۔
Sayyida Ibn Abbas RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba Nabi SAW kisi safar mein thay, raat ke aakhri hisse mein aap SAW ne padav kiya aur so gaye aur aankh us waqt tak nahi khuli jab tak suraj na nikal aaya, Nabi SAW ne Sayyidna Bilal RA ko hukum diya, unhon ne azaan di, phir Nabi SAW ne do rakaten parhayeen, Sayyida Ibn Abbas RA farmate thay keh rukhsat ki jo sahulat hamein di gayi hai, mujhe uske badle mein agar dunia o mafiha bhi de di jaye to mein khush na hon ga.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَعَرَّسَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَرَقَدَ، وَلَمْ يَسْتَيْقِظْ إِلَّا بِالشَّمْسِ، قَالَ: فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَالًا فَأَذَّنَ، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ" , قَالَ: فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: مَا تَسُرُّنِي الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا بِهَا , يَعْنِي: الرُّخْصَةَ.
