Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 23812
It is narrated on the authority of Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I and my two companions came and due to some hardship we had lost our hearing and sight. We presented ourselves before the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) but none of them accepted us. Then we came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and you (peace be upon him) took us towards your house. (In your house) There were three goats. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Milk these goats." So we milked them and each of us drank his share of the milk and we kept the share of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The narrator says that you would come at night (in such a manner) and greet (peace be upon you) so that the sleeping person would not wake up and the one who was awake would hear (your greeting). Then you would come to the mosque and pray, then you would come to your milk and drink it. One night the Satan came while I had drunk my share of the milk. The Satan said, "Muhammad (peace be upon him) goes to the Ansar and gives them gifts, and whatever you need is found. What need do you have for this one sip of milk?" (As a result of this incitement of the Satan) Then I came and drank that milk. When that milk went down my throat and I became sure that now there is no way for you to get milk, the Satan made me regret and said, "You are ruined, what have you done? You have also drunk the share of the milk of Muhammad (peace be upon him). You will come and he will not find the milk, then he will curse you, then you will be destroyed and your world and the hereafter will be ruined." I had a sheet, when I put it on my feet, my head would be uncovered, and when I put it on my head, my feet would be uncovered, and sleep was also coming over me, while my two companions were sleeping. They did not do what I did. Finally, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived and prayed, then you (peace be upon him) came towards your milk. When you opened the container, you (peace be upon him) found nothing in it. So you (peace be upon him) raised your blessed head towards the sky. I said (in my heart), "Now you will curse me and I will be destroyed." Then you (peace be upon him) said, "O Allah! Feed him who feeds me and give him drink who gives me drink." (Hearing this) I tied my sheet tightly. Then I grabbed a knife and went towards the goats so that I could slaughter the fattest goat for the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I saw that one of its udders was full of milk, rather the udders of all the goats were full of milk. Then I took the container of the house in which milk was not usually milked. Then I milked the milk in this container until the foam of the milk reached the top. Then I appeared in the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). You (peace be upon him) said, "Did you drink your share of the milk at night?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah! You drink the milk, then I will tell you the incident." You (peace be upon him) drank the milk, then you (peace be upon him) gave it to me. Then when I knew that you were full and I had received your prayer, I laughed until I started rolling on the ground with joy. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Miqdad! This is a great habit of yours." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! This is what happened to me and this is what I did." Then the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "This time the milk was nothing but mercy. Why didn't you tell me before so that we could wake up our companions and they could also drink from it?" I said, "By the Being Who has sent you with the truth, when you have drunk this milk and I have also drunk this milk, then I have no other concern now." (Meaning I have attained the mercy of Allah, so now what do I care about (out of happiness) whether anyone else attains this mercy or not).

حضرت مقداد بن اسود رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں اور میرے دو ساتھی آئے اور تکلیف کی وجہ سے ہماری قوت سماعت اور قوت بصارت چلی گئی تھی ہم نے اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہ ﷺ کے صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ پر پیش کیا تو ان میں سے کسی نے بھی ہمیں قبول نہیں کیا پھر ہم نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں آئے تو آپ ﷺ ہمیں اپنے گھر کی طرف لے گئے (آپ ﷺ کے گھر میں) تین بکریاں تھیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ان بکریوں کا دودھ نکالو پھر ہم ان کا دودھ نکالتے تھے اور ہم میں سے ہر ایک آدمی اپنے حصے کا دودھ پیتا اور ہم نبی کریم ﷺ کا حصہ اٹھا کر رکھ دیتے۔ راوی کہتے ہیں کہ آپ رات کے وقت تشریف لاتے (تو ایسے انداز میں) سلام کرتے کہ سونے والا بیدار نہ ہوتا اور جاگنے والا (آپ کا سلام) سن لیتا پھر آپ مسجد میں تشریف لاتے اور نماز پڑھتے پھر آپ اپنے دودھ کے پاس آتے اور اسے پیتے ایک رات شیطان آیا جبکہ میں اپنے حصے کا دودھ پی چکا تھا شیطان کہنے لگا کہ محمد ﷺ انصار کے پاس آتے ہیں اور آپ کو تحفے دیتے ہیں او آپ کو جس کسی چیز کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے وہ مل جاتی ہے آپ کو اس ایک گھونٹ دودھ کی کیا ضرورت ہوگی (شیطان کے اس ورغلانے کے نتیجہ میں) پھر میں آیا اور میں نے وہ دودھ پی لیا جب وہ دودھ میرے پیٹ میں چلا گیا اور مجھے اس بات کا یقین ہوگیا کہ اب آپ کو دودھ ملنے کا کوئی راستہ نہیں ہے تو شیطان نے مجھے ندامت دلائی اور کہنے لگا تیری خرابی ہو تو نے یہ کیا کیا؟ تو نے محمد ﷺ کے حصے کا بھی دودھ پی لیا آپ آئیں گے اور وہ دودھ نہیں پائیں گے تو تجھے بددعا دیں گے تو تو ہلاک ہوجائے گا اور تیری دنیا آخرت برباد ہوجائے گی میرے پاس ایک چادر تھی جب میں اسے اپنے پاؤں پر ڈالتا تو میرا سر کھل جاتا اور جب میں اسے اپنے سر پر ڈالتا تو میرے پاؤں کھل جاتے اور مجھے نیند بھی آرہی تھی جبکہ میرے دونوں ساتھی سو رہے تھے انہوں نے وہ کام نہیں کیا جو میں نے کیا تھا بالآخر نبی کریم ﷺ تشریف لائے اور نماز پڑھی، پھر آپ ﷺ اپنے دودھ کی طرف آئے برتن کھولا تو اس میں آپ ﷺ نے کچھ نہ پایا تو آپ ﷺ نے اپنا سر مبارک آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا میں نے (دل) میں کہا کہ اب آپ میرے لئے بددعا فرمائیں گے پھر میں ہلاک ہوجاؤں گا تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا اے اللہ! تو اسے کھلا جو مجھے کھلائے اور تو اسے پلا جو مجھے پلائے (میں نے یہ سن کر) اپنی چادر مضبوط کر کے باندھ لی پھر میں چھری پکڑ کر بکریوں کی طرف چل پڑا کہ ان بکریوں میں سے جو موٹی بکری ہو رسول اللہ ﷺ کے لئے ذبح کر ڈالوں میں نے دیکھا کہ اس کا ایک تھن دودھ سے بھرا پڑا ہے بلکہ سب بکریوں کے تھن دودھ سے بھرے پڑے تھے پھر میں نے اس گھر کے برتنوں میں سے وہ برتن لیا جس میں دودھ نہیں دوہا جاتا تھا پھر میں نے اس برتن میں دودھ نکالا یہاں تک کہ دودھ کی جھاگ اوپر تک آگئی پھر میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا تم نے رات کو اپنے حصہ کا دودھ پی لیا تھا؟ میں نے عرض کیا اے اللہ کے رسول! آپ دودھ پئیں پھر آپ کو واقعہ بتاؤں گا۔ آپ ﷺ نے دودھ پیا پھر آپ ﷺ نے مجھے دیا پھر جب مجھے معلوم ہوگیا کہ آپ سیر ہوگئے ہیں اور آپ کی دعا میں نے لے لی ہے تو میں ہنس پڑا یہاں تک کہ مارے خوشی کے زمین پر لوٹ پوٹ ہونے لگا نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اے مقداد! یہ تیری ایک بری عادت ہے میں نے عرض کیا اے اللہ کے رسول! میرے ساتھ تو اس طرح کا معاملہ ہوا ہے اور میں نے اس طرح کرلیا ہے تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس وقت کا دودھ سوائے رحمت کے اور کچھ نہ تھا تم نے مجھے پہلے ہی کیوں نہ بتادیا تاکہ ہم اپنے ساتھیوں کو بھی جگا دیتے وہ بھی اس میں سے دودھ پی لیتے میں نے عرض کیا اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے جب آپ نے یہ دودھ پی لیا ہے اور میں نے بھی یہ دودھ پی لیا ہے تو اب مجھے اور کوئی پرواہ نہیں (یعنی میں نے اللہ کی رحمت حاصل کرلی ہے تو اب مجھے کیا پرواہ (بوجہ خوشی) کہ لوگوں میں سے کوئی اور بھی یہ رحمت حاصل کرے یا نہ کرے)
Hazrat Miqdad bin Aswad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba main aur mere do sathi aaye aur takleef ki wajah se hamari quwwat samaat aur quwwat basarat chali gayi thi hum ne apne aap ko Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke Sahaba (رضي الله تعالى عنه) par pesh kiya to un mein se kisi ne bhi humein qubool nahin kiya phir hum Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein aaye to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humein apne ghar ki taraf le gaye (aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke ghar mein) teen bakriyan thin Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya in bakriyon ka doodh nikalo phir hum un ka doodh nikalte the aur hum mein se har ek aadmi apne hisse ka doodh peeta aur hum Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka hissa utha kar rakh dete. Ravi kehte hain ki aap raat ke waqt tashreef late (to aise andaz mein) salaam karte ki sone wala bedar na hota aur jagne wala (aap ka salaam) sun leta phir aap masjid mein tashreef late aur namaz padhte phir aap apne doodh ke paas aate aur use peete ek raat shaitan aaya jabki main apne hisse ka doodh pi chuka tha shaitan kehne laga ki Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Ansar ke paas aate hain aur aap ko tohfe dete hain aur aap ko jis kisi cheez ki zarurat hoti hai woh mil jati hai aap ko is ek ghont doodh ki kya zarurat hogi (shaitan ke is warglane ke natija mein) phir main aaya aur maine woh doodh pi liya jab woh doodh mere pet mein chala gaya aur mujhe is baat ka yakin ho gaya ki ab aap ko doodh milne ka koi rasta nahin hai to shaitan ne mujhe nadamat dilai aur kehne laga teri kharabi ho tune ye kya kiya? tune Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hisse ka bhi doodh pi liya aap aayenge aur woh doodh nahin payenge to tujhe baddua denge to tu halak hojaega aur teri duniya aakhirat barbad hojaegi mere paas ek chadar thi jab main use apne paaon par dalta to mera sar khul jata aur jab main use apne sar par dalta to mere paaon khul jate aur mujhe neend bhi aa rahi thi jabki mere donon sathi so rahe the unhon ne woh kaam nahin kiya jo maine kiya tha baalakhir Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) tashreef laaye aur namaz padhi, phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne doodh ki taraf aaye bartan khola to us mein aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kuchh na paya to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apna sar mubarak aasman ki taraf uthaya maine (dil) mein kaha ki ab aap mere liye baddua farmaenge phir main halak hojaonga to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya aye Allah! tu use khila jo mujhe khilaye aur tu use pila jo mujhe pilaye (maine ye sunkar) apni chadar mazboot kar ke bandh li phir main chhuri pakad kar bakriyon ki taraf chal pada ki in bakriyon mein se jo moti bakri ho Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke liye zabah kar daalon maine dekha ki us ka ek than doodh se bhara pada hai balki sab bakriyon ke than doodh se bhare pade the phir maine is ghar ke bartanon mein se woh bartan liya jis mein doodh nahin doha jata tha phir maine is bartan mein doodh nikala yahan tak ki doodh ki jhaag upar tak aa gayi phir main Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kya tum ne raat ko apne hissa ka doodh pi liya tha? maine arz kiya aye Allah ke Rasul! aap doodh piyen phir aap ko waqea bataunga. Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne doodh piya phir aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe diya phir jab mujhe maloom ho gaya ki aap seer ho gaye hain aur aap ki dua maine le li hai to main hans pada yahan tak ki maare khushi ke zameen par laut pot hone laga Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya aye Miqdad! ye teri ek bari aadat hai maine arz kiya aye Allah ke Rasul! mere sath to is tarah ka mamla hua hai aur maine is tarah kar liya hai to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya us waqt ka doodh siwaye rehmat ke aur kuchh na tha tum ne mujhe pehle hi kyon na bata diya taki hum apne sathiyon ko bhi jaga dete woh bhi is mein se doodh pi lete maine arz kiya is zaat ki qasam jis ne aap ko haq ke sath bheja hai jab aap ne ye doodh pi liya hai aur maine bhi ye doodh pi liya hai to ab mujhe aur koi parwah nahin (yani maine Allah ki rehmat hasil kar li hai to ab mujhe kya parwah (bojhe khushi) ki logon mein se koi aur bhi ye rehmat hasil kare ya na kare).
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ الْمِقْدَادِ ، قَالَ: أَقْبَلْتُ أَنَا وَصَاحِبَانِ لِي قَدْ ذَهَبَتْ أَسْمَاعُنَا وَأَبْصَارُنَا مِنَ الْجَهْدِ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلْنَا نَعْرِضُ أَنْفُسَنَا عَلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَقْبَلُنَا، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَانْطَلَقَ بِنَا إِلَى أَهْلِهِ، فَإِذَا ثَلَاثُ أَعْنُزٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " احْتَلِبُوا هَذَا اللَّبَنَ بَيْنَنَا"، قَالَ: فَكُنَّا نَحْتَلِبُ فَيَشْرَبُ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ نَصِيبَهُ، وَنَرْفَعُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَصِيبَهُ، فَيَجِيءُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَيُسَلِّمُ تَسْلِيمًا لَا يُوقِظُ نَائِمًا، وَيُسْمِعُ الْيَقْظَانَ، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي الْمَسْجِدَ فَيُصَلِّي، ثُمَّ يَأْتِي شَرَابَهُ فَيَشْرَبُهُ، قَالَ: فَأَتَانِي الشَّيْطَانُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَقَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ يَأْتِي الْأَنْصَارَ فَيُتْحِفُونَهُ، وَيُصِيبُ عِنْدَهُمْ، مَا بِهِ حَاجَةٌ إِلَى هَذِهِ الْجُرْعَةِ، فَاشْرَبْهَا، قَالَ: مَا زَالَ يُزَيِّنُ لِي حَتَّى شَرِبْتُهَا، فَلَمَّا وَغَلَتْ فِي بَطْنِي، وَعَرَفَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ إِلَيْهَا سَبِيلٌ، قَالَ: نَدَّمَنِي، فَقَالَ: وَيْحَكَ مَا صَنَعْتَ، شَرِبْتَ شَرَابَ مُحَمَّدٍ، فَيَجِيءُ وَلَا يَرَاهُ، فَيَدْعُو عَلَيْكَ فَتَهْلِكَ، فَتَذْهَبُ دُنْيَاكَ وَآخِرَتُكَ؟! قَالَ: وَعَلَيَّ شَمْلَةٌ مِنْ صُوفٍ كُلَّمَا رَفَعْتُهَا عَلَى رَأْسِي خَرَجَتْ قَدَمَايَ وَإِذَا أَرْسَلْتُ عَلَى قَدَمَيَّ، خَرَجَ رَأْسِي، وَجَعَلَ لَا يَجِيءُ لِي نَوْمٌ، قَالَ: وَأَمَّا صَاحِبَايَ فَنَامَا، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ كَمَا كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ، ثُمَّ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى، فَأَتَى شَرَابَهُ فَكَشَفَ عَنْهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدْ فِيهِ شَيْئًا، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: الْآنَ يَدْعُو عَلَيَّ فَأَهْلِكُ، فَقَالَ:" اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي، وَاسْقِ مَنْ سَقَانِي"، قَالَ: فَعَمَدْتُ إِلَى الشَّمْلَةِ، فَشَدَدْتُهَا عليَّ، فَأَخَذْتُ الشَّفْرَةَ فَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى الْأَعْنُزِ أَجُسُّهُنَّ أَيُّهُنَّ أَسْمَنُ، فَأَذْبَحُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِذَا هُنَّ حُفَّلٌ كُلُّهُنَّ، فَعَمَدْتُ إِلَى إِنَاءٍ لِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَا كَانُوا يَطْمَعُونَ أَنْ يَحْلِبُوا فِيهِ، وَقَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى: أَنْ يَحْتَلِبُوا فِيهِ فَحَلَبْتُ فِيهِ حَتَّى عَلَتْهُ الرَّغْوَةُ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ:" أَمَا شَرِبْتُمْ شَرَابَكُمْ اللَّيْلَةَ يَا مِقْدَادُ؟" قَالَ: قُلْتُ: اشْرَبْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، اشْرَبْ، فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي، فَأَخَذْتُ مَا بَقِيَ فَشَرِبْتُ، فَلَمَّا عَرَفْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ رَوِيَ فَأَصَابَتْنِي دَعْوَتُهُ، ضَحِكْتُ حَتَّى أُلْقِيتُ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِحْدَى سَوْآتِكَ يَا مِقْدَادُ"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، كَانَ مِنْ أَمْرِي كَذَا، صَنَعْتُ كَذَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنَ اللَّهِ، أَلَا كُنْتَ آذَنْتَنِي نُوقِظُ صَاحِبَيْكَ هَذَيْنِ فَيُصِيبَانِ مِنْهَا"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ، مَا أُبَالِي إِذَا أَصَبْتَهَا وَأَصَبْتُهَا مَعَكَ مَنْ أَصَابَهَا مِنَ النَّاسِ .
