Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 23822
It is narrated by Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, I and two of my companions went to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). We were very hungry. We presented ourselves to the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), but none of them accepted us. Then we came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took us towards your home. (There were) four goats (in your home). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me, "Miqdad! Milk these goats and divide the milk into four portions." So, I did the same. One day, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was late in returning at night. It came to my mind that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) must have gone to some Ansar (resident of Medina) and eaten and drank to his fill. If I drink his share of the milk, it will not matter. I kept thinking like this until I stood up and drank the share of milk of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and covered the bowl. When I drank the milk, all sorts of thoughts started coming to my mind, and I started thinking that if the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came in a state of hunger and did not find anything, then what would happen? I put on my sheet and started thinking these thoughts in my mind. I was still thinking about them when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived and greeted softly so that the one who was awake could hear, but the one who was asleep would not wake up. Then you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came towards your milk, opened the utensil, and found nothing in it. So, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O Allah! You feed the one who feeds me, and You give drink to the one who gives me drink." (I took advantage of this prayer and) grabbed a knife and went towards the goats to slaughter the fattest one for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I saw that the udders of all the goats were full of milk. Then I extracted milk in a utensil until it was full. Then I came to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Did you drink your share of milk at night?" I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! You drink the milk, then I will tell you the incident." You (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drank the milk, then you gave it to me. Then, when I knew that you were full, I also drank it. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Now tell me the incident." I narrated the whole incident to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The milk of that time was nothing but mercy. Why didn't you tell me before so that we could wake up our companions, and they could also drink from it?" I submitted, "When you and I have received this blessing, now I do not care who did not get a share of it."

حضرت مقداد بن اسود رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں اور میرے دو ساتھی نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ہمیں سخت بھوک لگ رہی تھی، ہم نے اپنے آپ کو صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہ پر پیش کیا تو ان میں سے کسی نے بھی ہمیں قبول نہیں کیا پھر ہم نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں آئے تو آپ ﷺ ہمیں اپنے گھر کی طرف لے گئے (آپ ﷺ کے گھر میں) چار بکریاں تھیں نبی کریم ﷺ نے مجھ سے فرمایا مقداد! ان بکریوں کا دودھ نکالو، اسے چار حصوں میں تقسیم کرلو چناچہ میں نے ایسا ہی کیا ایک دن نبی کریم ﷺ کے رات واپسی میں تاخیر ہوگئی میرے دل میں خیال آیا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے کسی انصاری کے پاس جا کر کھا پی لیا ہوگا اور سیراب ہوگئے ہوں گے اگر میں نے ان کے حصے کا دودھ پی لیا تو کوئی فرق نہیں پڑے گا۔ میں اسی طرح سوچتا رہا حتٰی کہ کھڑے ہو کر نبی کریم ﷺ کے حصے کا دودھ پی گیا اور پیالہ ڈھک دیا جب میں دودھ پی چکا تو میرے دل میں طرح طرح کے خیالات ابھرنے لگے اور میں سوچنے لگا کہ اگر نبی کریم ﷺ بھوک کی حالت میں تشریف لائے اور انہیں کچھ نہ ملا تو کیا ہوگا؟ میں نے اپنی چادر اوڑھ لی اور اپنے ذہن میں یہ خیالات سوچنے لگا ابھی میں انہی خیالات میں تھا کہ نبی کریم ﷺ تشریف لائے اور آہستہ سے سلام کیا جو جاگنے والا تو سن لے لیکن سونے والا نہ جاگے پھر آپ ﷺ اپنے دودھ کی طرف آئے برتن کھولا تو اس میں آپ ﷺ نے کچھ نہ پایا تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا اے اللہ! تو اسے کھلا جو مجھے کھلائے اور تو اسے پلا جو مجھے پلائے (میں نے اس دعاء کو غنیمت سمجھا اور چھری پکڑ کر بکریوں کی طرف چل پڑا کہ ان بکریوں میں سے جو موٹی بکری ہو رسول اللہ ﷺ کے لئے ذبح کر ڈالوں میں نے دیکھا کہ سب بکریوں کے تھن دودھ سے بھرے پڑے تھے پھر میں نے ایک برتن میں دودھ نکالا یہاں تک کہ وہ بھر گیا پھر میں رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا تم نے رات کو اپنے حصہ کا دودھ پی لیا تھا؟ میں نے عرض کیا اے اللہ کے رسول! آپ دودھ پئیں پھر آپ کو واقعہ بتاؤں گا۔ آپ ﷺ نے دودھ پیا پھر آپ نے مجھے دیا پھر جب مجھے معلوم ہوگیا کہ آپ سیر ہوگئے ہیں تو میں نے بھی اسے پی لیا، نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ اب وہ واقعہ بتاؤ میں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کے سامنے وہ واقعہ ذکر کردیا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس وقت کا دودھ سوائے رحمت کے اور کچھ نہ تھا تم نے مجھے پہلے ہی کیوں نہ بتادیا تاکہ ہم اپنے ساتھیوں کو بھی جگا دیتے وہ بھی اس میں سے دودھ پی لیتے میں نے عرض کیا جب آپ کو اور مجھے یہ برکت حاصل ہوگئی ہے اب مجھے کوئی پرواہ نہیں کہ کسے اس کا حصہ نہیں ملا۔
Hazrat Miqdad bin Aswad RA se marvi hai ki ek martaba mein aur mere do saathi Nabi Kareem SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hue hamen sakht bhuk lag rahi thi humne apne aap ko Sahaba RA par pesh kia to un mein se kisi ne bhi hamen qubool nahi kia phir hum Nabi Kareem SAW ki khidmat mein aaye to aap SAW hamen apne ghar ki taraf le gaye (aap SAW ke ghar mein) chaar bakriyan thin Nabi Kareem SAW ne mujhse farmaya Miqdad in bakriyon ka doodh nikalo ise chaar hisson mein taqseem karlo chunancha maine aisa hi kia ek din Nabi Kareem SAW ki raat wapsi mein takheer hogayi mere dil mein khayal aaya ki Nabi Kareem SAW ne kisi Ansaari ke paas ja kar kha pi lia hoga aur serab hogaye honge agar maine unke hisse ka doodh pi lia to koi farq nahi padega mein isi tarah sochta raha hatta ki khde ho kar Nabi Kareem SAW ke hisse ka doodh pi gaya aur piyala dhak dia jab mein doodh pi chuka to mere dil mein tarah tarah ke khayalat ubharne lage aur mein sochne laga ki agar Nabi Kareem SAW bhuk ki halat mein tashreef laaye aur unhen kuch na mila to kia hoga maine apni chadar odh li aur apne zehn mein ye khayalat sochne laga abhi mein inhi khayalat mein tha ki Nabi Kareem SAW tashreef laaye aur aahista se salam kia jo jagne wala to sun le lekin sone wala na jage phir aap SAW apne doodh ki taraf aaye bartan khola to usmein aap SAW ne kuch na paya to aap SAW ne farmaya aye Allah tu use khila jo mujhe khilaye aur tu use pila jo mujhe pilaye (maine is duaa ko ghanimat samjha aur chhuri pakad kar bakriyon ki taraf chal pada ki in bakriyon mein se jo moti bakri ho Rasul Allah SAW ke liye zibah kar daalon maine dekha ki sab bakriyon ke than doodh se bhare pade the phir maine ek bartan mein doodh nikala yahan tak ki woh bhar gaya phir mein Rasul Allah SAW ki khidmat mein hazir hua aap SAW ne farmaya kia tumne raat ko apne hisse ka doodh pi lia tha maine arz kia aye Allah ke Rasul aap doodh piyen phir aapko waqea bataun ga aap SAW ne doodh pia phir aapne mujhe dia phir jab mujhe maloom hogaya ki aap ser hogaye hain to maine bhi ise pi lia Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya ki ab woh waqea batao maine Nabi Kareem SAW ke samne woh waqea zikar kardia to Nabi Kareem SAW ne farmaya us waqt ka doodh siwaye rehmat ke aur kuch na tha tumne mujhe pehle hi kyun na batadya takah hum apne saathiyon ko bhi jaga dete woh bhi is mein se doodh pi lete maine arz kia jab aapko aur mujhe ye barkat hasil hogayi hai ab mujhe koi parwah nahi ki kise iska hissa nahi mila.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي، فَتَعَرَّضْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فَلَمْ يُضِفْنَا أَحَدٌ، فَأَتَيْنَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْنَا لَهُ، فَذَهَبَ بِنَا إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ وَعِنْدَهُ أَرْبَعُ أَعْنُزٍ، فَقَالَ: " احْتَلِبْهُنَّ يَا مِقْدَادُ وَجَزِّئْهُنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ، وَأَعْطِ كُلَّ إِنْسَانٍ جُزْأَهُ"، فَكُنْتُ أَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ، فَرَفَعْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُزْأَهُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَاحْتَبَسَ وَاضْطَجَعْتُ عَلَى فِرَاشِي، فَقَالَتْ لِي نَفْسِي: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَتَى أَهْلَ بَيْتٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَلَوْ قُمْتَ فَشَرِبْتَ هَذِهِ الشَّرْبَةَ، فَلَمْ تَزَلْ بِي حَتَّى قُمْتُ فَشَرِبْتُ جُزْأَهُ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ فِي بَطْنِي وَتَقَارَّ أَخَذَنِي مَا قَدُمَ وَمَا حَدُثَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَجِيءُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَائِعًا ظَمْآنًا وَلَا يَرَى فِي الْقَدَحِ شَيْئًا، فَتَسَجَّيْتُ ثَوْبًا عَلَى وَجْهِي، وَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمًا يُسْمِعُ الْيَقْظَانَ، وَلَا يُوقِظُ النَّائِمَ، فَكَشَفَ عَنْهُ فَلَمْ يَرَ شَيْئًا، فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ، فَقَال:" اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِ مَنْ سَقَانِي، وَأَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي" فَاغْتَنَمْتُ دَعْوَتَهُ، وَقُمْتُ فَأَخَذْتُ الشَّفْرَةَ، فَدَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْأَعْنُزِ، فَجَعَلْتُ أَجُسُّهُنَّ أَيُّهُنَّ أَسْمَنُ لِأَذْبَحَهَا، فَوَقَعَتْ يَدِي عَلَى ضَرْعِ إِحْدَاهُنَّ، فَإِذَا هِيَ حَافِلٌ، ونَظَرْتُ إِلَى الْأُخْرَى فَإِذَا هِيَ حَافِلٌ، ونَظَرْتُ كُلَّهُنَّ فَإِذَا هُنَّ حُفَّلٌ، فَحَلَبْتُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِ، فَقُلْتُ: اشْرَبْ، فَقَالَ:" الْخَبَرَ يَا مِقْدَادُ"، فَقُلْتُ: اشْرَبْ ثُمَّ الْخَبَرَ، فَقَالَ:" بَعْضُ سَوْآتِكَ يَا مِقْدَادُ"، فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ قَالَ:" اشْرَبْ"، فَقُلْتُ: اشْرَبْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، فَشَرِبَ حَتَّى تَضَلَّعَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُ فَشَرِبْتُه، ثُمَّ أَخْبَرْتُهُ الْخَبَرَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" هِيهْ"، فَقُلْتُ: كَانَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" هَذِهِ بَرَكَةٌ نَزَلَتْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، أَفَلَا أَخْبَرْتَنِي حَتَّى أَسْقِيَ صَاحِبَيْكَ"، فَقُلْتُ: إِذَا شَرِبْتُ الْبَرَكَةَ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ، فَلَا أُبَالِي مَنْ أَخْطَأَتْ .
