Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 23927
It is narrated by Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) that at the time of the Battle of Hunayn, the lips of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were constantly moving. He had never done this before. Later, he said that there was a prophet among the past nations. He became satisfied and happy with the large number of his people, and exclaimed, "These people can never be defeated!" So, Allah Almighty revealed to him and gave him the choice of one of three things: either He would send an enemy upon them who would shed their blood, or He would send famine upon them, or He would send plague. He said, "We cannot bear killing and famine, but send plague upon us." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Seventy thousand of them died within three days. Therefore, I now say, 'O Allah! I only plan by Your help, I only attack by Your help, and I only fight by Your help."

حضرت صہیب رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ غزوہ حنین کے موقع پر نبی کریم ﷺ کے ہونٹ ہلتے رہتے تھے اس سے پہلے کبھی آپ ﷺ نے ایسا نہیں کیا تھا بعد میں فرمایا کہ پہلی امتوں میں ایک پیغمبر تھے انہیں اپنی امت کی تعداد پر اطمینان اور خوشی ہوئی اور ان کے منہ سے یہ جملہ نکل گیا کہ یہ لوگ کبھی شکست نہیں کھا سکتے اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس پر ان کی طرف وحی بھیجی اور انہیں تین میں سے کسی ایک بات کا اختیار دیا کہ یا تو ان پر کسی دشمن کو مسلط کر دوں جو ان کا خون بہائے یا بھوک کو مسلط کر دوں یا موت کو؟ وہ کہنے لگے کہ قتل اور بھوک کی تو ہم میں طاقت نہیں ہے البتہ موت ہم پر مسلط کردی جائے نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا صرف تین دن میں ان کے ستر ہزار آدمی مرگئے اس لئے اب میں یہ کہتا ہوں کہ اے اللہ! میں تری ہی مدد سے حیلہ کرتا ہوں، تیری ہی مدد سے حملہ کرتا ہوں اور تیری ہی مدد سے قتال کرتا ہوں۔
Hazrat Sohaib Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ke Ghazwa Hunain ke mauqe par Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ke hont hilte rehte the is se pehle kabhi aap Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne aisa nahi kya tha baad mein farmaya ke pehli umaton mein ek paighambar the unhen apni ummat ki tadaad par itminan aur khushi hui aur un ke munh se yeh jumla nikal gaya ke yeh log kabhi shikast nahi kha sakte Allah Ta'ala ne is par un ki taraf wahi bheji aur unhen teen mein se kisi ek baat ka ikhtiyar diya ke ya to un par kisi dushman ko musallat kar dun jo un ka khoon bahaye ya bhook ko musallat kar dun ya maut ko? Woh kehne lage ke qatal aur bhook ki to hum mein taqat nahi hai albatta maut hum par musallat kardi jaye Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne farmaya sirf teen din mein un ke sattar hazar aadmi margaye is liye ab mein yeh kehta hun ke aye Allah! mein teri hi madad se hila karta hun, teri hi madad se hamla karta hun aur teri hi madad se qatal karta hun.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا صَلَّى هَمَسَ شَيْئًا لَا أَفْهَمُهُ وَلَا يُخْبِرُنَا بِهِ، قَالَ:" أَفَطِنْتُمْ لِي؟" قُلْنَا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " إِنِّي ذَكَرْتُ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أُعْطِيَ جُنُودًا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ يُكَافِئُ هَؤُلَاءِ أَوْ مَنْ يَقُومُ لِهَؤُلَاءِ؟! أَوْ غَيْرَهَا مِنَ الْكَلَامِ، فَأُوحِيَ إِلَيْهِ: أَنْ اخْتَرْ لِقَوْمِكَ إِحْدَى ثَلَاثٍ: إِمَّا أَنْ نُسَلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ، أَوْ الْجُوعَ، أَوْ الْمَوْتَ، فَاسْتَشَارَ قَوْمَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ، فَقَالُوا: أَنْتَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ، فَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ إِلَيْكَ، خِرْ لَنَا، فَقَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، وَكَانُوا إِذَا فَزِعُوا، فَزِعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَصَلَّى مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ"، قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ:" أَيْ رَبِّ، أَمَّا عَدُوٌّ مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ فَلَا، أَوْ الْجُوعُ فَلَا، وَلَكِنْ الْمَوْتُ، فَسُلِّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ الْمَوْتُ، فَمَاتَ مِنْهُمْ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا، فَهَمْسِي الَّذِي تَرَوْنَ أَنِّي أَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أُقَاتِلُ، وَبِكَ أُصَاوِلُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ" .
