Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 24208
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave us the choice of either staying with him or choosing the life of this world. We chose the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not consider it as a divorce upon us.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ہمیں اپنے پاس رہنے یا دنیا لینے کا اختیار دیا، ہم نے نبی ﷺ کو اختیار کرلیا تو نبی ﷺ نے اسے ہم پر کوئی طلاق شمار نہیں کیا۔
Hazrat Aisha raziallahu anha se marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne humain apne pass rehne ya dunya lene ka ikhtiyar diya, hum ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ikhtiyar karliya to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne isse hum per koi talaq shumar nahi kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَت: " خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ، وَلَمْ يَعْدُدْهَا عَلَيْنَا شَيْئًا" .
