Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 24247
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The month is of 29 days. When the people mentioned this to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: May Allah forgive Abu Abdur Rahman (Ibn Umar), he must have forgotten. In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had said: Sometimes the month is also of 29 days.

حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا مہینہ ٢٩ کا ہوتا ہے، لوگوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے اس کا ذکر کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا اللہ تعالیٰ ابوعبدالرحمن کی بخشش فرمائے، انہیں وہم ہوگیا ہے، دراصل نبی ﷺ نے یہ فرمایا تھا بعض اوقات مہینہ ٢٩ دن کا بھی ہوتا ہے۔
Hazrat Ibn Umar Radi Allaho Anhuma se marvi hai ki Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne irshad farmaya mahina 29 ka hota hai, logon ne Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allaho Anha se iska zikar kiya to unhon ne farmaya Allah Ta'ala Abu Abdurahman ki bakhshish farmaye, unhen veham hogaya hai, darasal Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne ye farmaya tha baz auqat mahina 29 din ka bhi hota hai.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ"، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِعَائِشَةَ ، فَقَالَتْ: يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، إِنَّمَا قَالَ: " الشَّهْرُ يَكُونُ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ" .
