The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2425
Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no contagion (of disease without the permission of Allah), no evil omen, no (evil in the month of) Safar, and no (evil omen in the cry of the) owl." (Simak said, "Safar is the name of a worm that gets into the stomachs of people.") A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, camels may be healthy, (then) a mangy camel will join them and infect them all with mange." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Who infected the first one?"

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: بیماری متعدی ہونے کا نظریہ صحیح نہیں، بدشگونی کی کوئی حیثیت نہیں ہے، صفر کا مہینہ یا الو کے منحوس ہونے کی کوئی حقیقت نہیں ہے، (سماک کہتے ہیں کہ ”صفر“ انسان کے پیٹ میں ایک کیڑا ہوتا ہے)، ایک آدمی نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! سو اونٹوں میں ایک خارش زدہ اونٹ شامل ہو کر ان سب کو خارش زدہ کر دیتا ہے (اور آپ کہتے ہیں کہ بیماری متعدی نہیں ہوتی؟) نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ بتاؤ! اس پہلے اونٹ کو خارش میں کس نے مبتلا کیا؟“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya bimari mutdi hone ka nazariya sahih nahi badshaguni ki koi haisiyat nahi hai safar ka mahina ya ulu ke manhoos hone ki koi haqiqat nahi hai simak kahte hain ki safar insan ke pet mein ek keeda hota hai ek aadmi ne arz kiya ki Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sau oonton mein ek kharish zadaa oont shamil ho kar in sab ko kharish zadaa kar deta hai aur aap kahte hain ki bimari mutdi nahi hoti nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ye batao is pehle oont ko kharish mein kis ne mubtala kiya
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا طِيَرَةَ، وَلَا صَفَرَ وَلَا هَام" , فَذَكَرَ سِمَاكٌ أَنَّ الصَّفَرَ: دَابَّةٌ تَكُونُ فِي بَطْنِ الْإِنْسَانِ , فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، تَكُونُ فِي الْإِبِلِ الْجَرِبَةُ فِي الْمِئَةِ، فَتُجْرِبُهَا , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ".
