The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2445
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted his sword, named Dhul-Fiqar, as a reward to (Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him) on the day of the Battle of Badr. This was the same sword about which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a dream on the occasion of the Battle of Uhud. He said, "I saw some brokenness in my sword Dhul-Fiqar, which I interpreted as a sign of weakness within you. I also saw myself riding a ram, which I interpreted as the ram of the army. Then I saw you in a strong fortress, which I interpreted as Medina. Furthermore, I saw a cow being slaughtered. By Allah! The cow is good. By Allah! The cow is good." And it happened just as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had seen in the dream.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے اپنی تلوار - جس کا نام ذوالفقار تھا - غزوہ بدر کے دن (سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کو) بطور انعام کے عطا فرمائی تھی، یہ وہی تلوار تھی جس کے متعلق نبی ﷺ نے غزوہ احد کے موقع پر خواب دیکھا تھا اور فرمایا تھا کہ ”میں نے اپنی تلوار ذوالفقار میں کچھ شکستگی کے آثار دیکھے، جس کی تعبیر میں نے یہ لی کہ تمہارے اندر شکستگی کے آثار ہوں گے، نیز میں نے دیکھا کہ میں اپنے پیچھے ایک مینڈھے کو سوار کئے ہوئے ہوں، میں نے اس کی تعبیر لشکر کے مینڈھے سے کی ہے، پھر میں نے اپنے آپ کو ایک مضبوط قلعے میں دیکھا جس کی تاویل میں نے مدینہ منورہ سے کی، نیز میں نے ایک گائے کو ذبح ہوتے ہوئے دیکھا، واللہ! گائے خیر ہے، واللہ! گائے خیر ہے۔“ چنانچہ ایساہی ہوا جیسے نبی ﷺ نے خواب میں دیکھا تھا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni talwar - jis ka naam Zulfiqar tha - Ghazwa Badr ke din (Sayyidna Ali (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ko) ba طور inaam ke ata farmai thi, yeh wohi talwar thi jis ke mutalliq Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Ghazwa Uhud ke mauqe par khwab dekha tha aur farmaya tha ki "main ne apni talwar Zulfiqar mein kuchh shikastagi ke asar dekhe, jis ki tabeer mein ne yeh li ki tumhare andar shikastagi ke asar honge, neez mein ne dekha ki mein apne peeche ek mendhe ko sawar kiye huye hon, mein ne is ki tabeer lashkar ke mendhe se ki hai, phir mein ne apne aap ko ek mazboot qile mein dekha jis ki taweel mein ne Madina Munawwara se ki, neez mein ne ek gaye ko zibah hote huye dekha, Wallahi! Gaye khair hai, Wallahi! Gaye khair hai." Chunache aisa hi hua jaise Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne khwab mein dekha tha.
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَى عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: تَنَفَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَيْفَهُ ذَا الْفَقَارِ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي رَأَى فِيهِ الرُّؤْيَا يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، فَقَالَ:" رَأَيْتُ فِي سَيْفِي ذِي الْفَقَارِ فَلًّا، فَأَوَّلْتُهُ، فَلًّا يَكُونُ فِيكُمْ، وَرَأَيْتُ أَنِّي مُرْدِفٌ كَبْشًا، فَأَوَّلْتُهُ، كَبْشَ الْكَتِيبَةِ، وَرَأَيْتُ أَنِّي فِي دِرْعٍ حَصِينَةٍ، فَأَوَّلْتُهَا: الْمَدِينَةَ، وَرَأَيْتُ بَقَرًا تُذْبَحُ، فَبَقَرٌ وَاللَّهِ خَيْرٌ، فَبَقَرٌ وَاللَّهِ خَيْرٌ" , فَكَانَ الَّذِي قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
