Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2518
Musa bin Salma (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Once, Sinan bin Salma and I set out for Hajj. Sinan had a female camel that became exhausted on the way, and he became helpless because of it. I thought that I would definitely ask about it when we reached Mecca. So when we reached Mecca, I said to Sinan, "Let's go to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)." We went there, and when we arrived, a young girl was sitting with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). I had two matters to discuss, and my companion had one. He said, "I'll wait outside; you discuss your matters in private." I said, "There is nothing like that (which requires secrecy)." Then I submitted to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), "I had a female camel that became exhausted on the way, and I had thought that I would definitely ask about it when we reached Mecca." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entrusted some camels to a man and instructed him accordingly. When the man was about to leave, he turned back and asked, 'O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), what should I do if one of them gets exhausted?' He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Slaughter it, dip its hoof in its blood, and mark it on its forehead. Do not eat from it yourself, nor should any of your companions eat from it.'" I asked the second question: "I participate in battles and receive a share of the spoils of war. If I free a slave or a slave girl on behalf of my mother, will my freeing someone on their behalf suffice for them?" Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "The wife of Sinan bin Abdullah Jahni asked him to inquire from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), 'My mother has passed away, and she could not perform Hajj. Will my performing Hajj on her behalf suffice for her?' The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, 'If your mother had a debt and you paid it off, would it be considered paid or not?' She replied, 'Yes!' He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Then she should perform Hajj on behalf of her mother.'" They also asked about seawater. He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Seawater is purifying."

موسی بن سلمہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں اور سنان بن سلمہ حج کے لئے روانہ ہوئے، سنان کے پاس ایک اونٹنی تھی، وہ راستے میں تھک گئی اور وہ اس کی وجہ سے عاجز آ گئے، میں نے سوچا کہ مکہ مکرمہ پہنچ کر اس کے متعلق ضرور دریافت کروں گا، چنانچہ جب ہم مکہ مکرمہ پہنچے تو میں نے سنان سے کہا کہ آؤ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس چلتے ہیں، ہم وہاں چلے گئے، وہاں پہنچے تو سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس ایک بچی بیٹھی ہوئی تھی، مجھے ان سے دو کام تھے اور میرے ساتھی کو ایک، وہ کہنے لگا کہ میں باہر چلا جاتا ہوں، آپ تنہائی میں اپنی بات کر لیں؟ میں نے کہا ایسی کوئی بات ہی نہیں (جو تخلیہ میں پوچھنا ضروری ہو)۔ پھر میں نے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے عرض کیا کہ میرے پاس ایک اونٹنی تھی جو راستے میں تھک گئی، میں نے دل میں سوچا تھا کہ میں مکہ مکرمہ پہنچ کر اس کے متعلق ضرور دریافت کروں گا، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے ایک شخص کے ہاتھ کچھ اونٹنیاں کہیں بھجوائیں اور جو حکم دینا تھا وہ دے دیا، جب وہ شخص جانے لگا تو پلٹ کر واپس آیا اور کہنے لگا: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! اگر ان میں سے کوئی اونٹ تھک جائے تو کیا کروں؟ فرمایا: ”اسے ذبح کر کے اس کے نعل کو اس کے خون میں رنگ دینا اور اسے اس کی پیشانی پر لگا دینا، نہ خود اسے کھانا اور نہ تمہارا کوئی ساتھی اسے کھائے۔“ میں نے دوسرا سوال یہ پوچھا کہ میں غزوات میں شرکت کرتا ہوں، مجھے اس میں مال غنیمت کا حصہ ملتا ہے، میں اپنی والدہ کی طرف سے کسی غلام یا باندی کو آزاد کر دیتا ہوں تو کیا میرا ان کی طرف سے کسی کو آزاد کرنا ان کے لئے کفایت کرے گا؟ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ سنان بن عبداللہ جہنی کی اہلیہ نے ان سے کہا کہ نبی ﷺ سے یہ سوال پوچھیں کہ ان کی والدہ کا انتقال ہوگیا ہے، وہ حج نہیں کر سکی تھیں، کیا ان کی طرف سے میرا حج کرنا ان کے لئے کفایت کر جائے گا؟ نبی ﷺ نے جواب میں فرمایا کہ ”اگر ان کی والدہ پر کوئی قرض ہوتا اور وہ اسے ادا کر دیتیں تو کیا وہ ادا ہوجاتا یا نہیں؟“ انہوں نے عرض کیا: جی ہاں! فرمایا: ”پھر اسے اپنی والدہ کی طرف سے حج کر لینا چاہیے۔“ انہوں نے سمندر کے پانی کے بارے بھی سوال کیا، تو فرمایا: سمندر کا پانی پاک کرنے والا ہے۔
Musa bin Salma rahmatullah alaih kahte hain ki ek martaba main aur Sinan bin Salma Hajj ke liye rawana huye, Sinan ke pass ek untni thi, woh raste mein thaq gayi aur woh is ki wajah se aajiz aa gaye, maine socha ki Makkah Mukarramah pahunch kar iske mutalliq zaroor daryaft karoonga, chunancha jab hum Makkah Mukarramah pahunche to maine Sinan se kaha ki aao Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke pass chalte hain, hum wahan chale gaye, wahan pahunche to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke pass ek bacchi baithi hui thi, mujhe unse do kaam the aur mere sathi ko ek, woh kahne laga ki main bahar chala jata hun, aap tanhai mein apni baat kar len? Maine kaha aisi koi baat hi nahin (jo takhliya mein puchna zaroori ho). Phir maine Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se arz kiya ki mere pass ek untni thi jo raste mein thaq gayi, maine dil mein socha tha ki main Makkah Mukarramah pahunch kar iske mutalliq zaroor daryaft karoonga, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ek shakhs ke hath kuchh untniyan kahin bhejwayin aur jo hukum dena tha woh de diya, jab woh shakhs jane laga to palat kar wapas aaya aur kahne laga: Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Agar in mein se koi unt thaq jaye to kya karun? Farmaya: "Isse zibah kar ke iske naal ko iske khoon mein rang dena aur isse iski peshani par laga dena, na khud isse khana aur na tumhara koi sathi isse khaye." Maine dusra sawal yeh puchha ki main ghazwat mein shirkat karta hun, mujhe is mein maal ghanimat ka hissa milta hai, main apni walida ki taraf se kisi ghulam ya bandi ko azad kar deta hun to kya mera unki taraf se kisi ko azad karna unke liye kafaayat karega? Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne farmaya ki Sinan bin Abdullah Jahni ki ahlia ne unse kaha ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yeh sawal puchein ki unki walida ka inteqal hogaya hai, woh Hajj nahin kar saki thin, kya unki taraf se mera Hajj karna unke liye kafaayat kar jayega? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne jawab mein farmaya ki "Agar unki walida par koi qarz hota aur woh isse ada kar deti to kya woh ada hojata ya nahin?" Unhon ne arz kiya: Ji haan! Farmaya: "Phir isse apni walida ki taraf se Hajj kar lena chahie." Unhon ne samandar ke pani ke bare mein bhi sawal kiya, to farmaya: Samandar ka pani pak karne wala hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو التَّيَّاحِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ: حَجَجْتُ أَنَا وَسِنَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، وَمَعَ سِنَانٍ بَدَنَةٌ، فَأَزْحَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ، فَعَيَّ بِشَأْنِهَا، فَقُلْتُ: لَئِنْ قَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ لَأَسْتَبْحِثَنَّ عَنْ هَذَا، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ، قُلْتُ: انْطَلِقْ بِنَا إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ، وَعِنْدَهُ جَارِيَةٌ، فكَانَ لِي حَاجَتَانِ , وَلِصَاحِبِي حَاجَةٌ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُخْلِيكَ؟ قُلْتُ: لَا , فَقُلْتُ: كَانَتْ مَعِي بَدَنَةٌ فَأَزْحَفَتْ عَلَيْنَا، فَقُلْتُ: لَئِنْ قَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ، لَأَسْتَبْحِثَنّ عَنْ هَذَا , فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبُدْنِ مَعَ فُلَانٍ، وَأَمَرَهُ فِيهَا بِأَمْرِهِ، فَلَمَّا قَفَّا رَجَعَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَا أَصْنَعُ بِمَا أَزْحَفَ عَلَيَّ مِنْهَا؟ قَالَ:" انْحَرْهَا وَاصْبُغْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا، وَاضْرِبْهُ عَلَى صَفْحَتِهَا، وَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ، وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أهل رُفْقَتِكَ". (حديث موقوف) قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَغَازِي، فَأُغْنَمُ فَأُعْتِقُ عَنْ أُمِّي، أَفَيُجْزِئُ عَنْهَا أَنْ أُعْتِقَ؟ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَغَازِي، فَأُغْنَمُ فَأُعْتِقُ عَنْ أُمِّي، أَفَيُجْزِئُ عَنْهَا أَنْ أُعْتِقَ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : أَمَرَتْ امْرَأَةُ سنَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجُهَنِيَّ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أُمِّهَا تُوُفِّيَتْ وَلَمْ تَحْجُجْ، أَيُجْزِئُ عَنْهَا أَنْ تَحُجَّ عَنْهَا؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهَا دَيْنٌ، فَقَضَتْهُ عَنْهَا، أَكَانَ يُجْزِئُ عَنْ أُمِّهَا؟" , قَالَ: نَعَمْ , قَالَ:" فَلْتَحْجُجْ عَنْ أُمِّهَا". (حديث موقوف) وَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ، فَقَالَ:" مَاءُ الْبَحْرِ طَهُورٌ".
