The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2559
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I slept at the house of my maternal aunt, Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Maymunah bint Harith (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) woke up during the night, relieved himself, then came back, washed his face and hands, and went back to sleep. Then, after some time had passed, he woke up again and came to the waterskin, untied its rope, and performed ablution in which he exaggerated (in a good way, for thoroughness). Then he stood up to pray. I kept waiting for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so that you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not see me. Then, standing up, I did what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had done and came and stood on the left side of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took hold of me by the ear and turned me around, so I came to be on his right side. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) continued praying during this time. The Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayer consisted of thirteen rak'ahs in total, including the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr. After this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lay down and slept until the sound of his snoring could be heard. A little later, Sayyidina Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came and announced the prayer. So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up to lead the prayer and did not perform a new ablution.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں اپنی خالہ ام المومنین سیدہ میمونہ بنت حارث رضی اللہ عنہا کے یہاں ایک مرتبہ رات کو سویا، نبی ﷺ رات کو بیدار ہوئے، قضاء حاجت کی، پھر آ کر چہرہ اور ہاتھوں کو دھویا اور دوبارہ سو گئے، پھر کچھ رات گزرنے کے بعد دوبارہ بیدار ہوئے اور مشکیزے کے پاس آ کر اس کی رسی کھولی اور وضو کیا جس میں خوب مبالغہ کیا، پھر نماز پڑھنے کے لئے کھڑے ہوئے، میں نبی ﷺ کا انتظار کرتا رہا تاکہ آپ ﷺ مجھے دیکھ نہ سکیں، پھر کھڑے ہو کر میں نے بھی وہی کیا جو نبی ﷺ نے کیا تھا اور آ کر نبی ﷺ کی بائیں جانب کھڑا ہوگیا۔ نبی ﷺ نے مجھے کان سے پکڑ کر گھمایا تو میں آپ ﷺ کی دائیں طرف پہنچ گیا، نبی ﷺ اس دوران نماز پڑھتے رہے، نبی ﷺ کی نماز کل تیرہ رکعت پر مشتمل تھی، جس میں فجر کی دو سنتیں بھی شامل تھیں، اس کے بعد نبی ﷺ لیٹ کر سو گئے، یہاں تک کہ آپ ﷺ کے خراٹوں کی آواز آنے لگی، تھوڑی دیر بعد سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ نے آ کر نماز کی اطلاع دی، تو آپ ﷺ نماز پڑھانے کے لئے کھڑے ہو گئے اور تازہ وضو نہیں کیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki main apni khala Ummul Momineen Sayyida Maymunah bint Haris ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ke yahan ek martaba raat ko soya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) raat ko bedar huye, qaza hajat ki, phir aa kar chehra aur hathon ko dhoya aur dobara so gaye, phir kuchh raat guzarne ke baad dobara bedar huye aur mashkize ke paas aa kar uski rassi kholi aur wazu kiya jismein khoob mubalagha kiya, phir namaz padhne ke liye khade huye, main Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka intezar karta raha taake aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) mujhe dekh na sakein, phir khade ho kar maine bhi wohi kiya jo Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kiya tha aur aa kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki bayein janib khada hogaya. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe kaan se pakad kar ghumaya to main aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki dayein taraf pahunch gaya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) is dauran namaz padhte rahe, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki namaz kul terah rakat par mushtamil thi, jismein fajr ki do sunnatein bhi shamil thin, iske baad Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) let kar so gaye, yahan tak ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke kharrato ki aawaz aane lagi, thodi der baad Sayyidna Bilal (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne aa kar namaz ki itlaa di, to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz padhane ke liye khade ho gaye aur taza wazu nahin kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: نِمْتُ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ،" فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَأَتَى الْحَاجَةَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ، ثُمَّ نَامَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَأَتَى الْقِرْبَةَ، فَأَطْلَقَ شِنَاقَهَا، فَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءًا بَيْنَ الْوُضُوءَيْنِ لَمْ يُكْثِرْ، وَقَدْ أَبْلَغَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي، وَتَمَطَّيْتُ كَرَاهَةَ أَنْ يَرَانِي كُنْتُ أَبْقِيهِ، يَعْنِي: أَرْقُبُهُ، ثُمَّ قُمْتُ فَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا فَعَلَ، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، فَأَخَذَ بِمَا يَلِي أُذُنِي حَتَّى أَدَارَنِي، فَكُنْتُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ، وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، فَتَتَامَّتْ صَلَاتُهُ إِلَى ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً، فِيهَا رَكْعَتَا الْفَجْرِ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ، فَنَامَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِلَالٌ، فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ، فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ".
