Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25688
It is narrated by Aisha (peace be upon her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to stand for long periods in the night prayer and sit for a long time. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite and bow while standing, and he also used to recite, bow and prostrate while sitting.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ رات کی نماز میں نبی ﷺ طویل قیام فرماتے اور کافی دیر تک بیٹھتے، نبی ﷺ کھڑے ہو کر بھی تلاوت اور رکوع فرماتے تھے اور بیٹھ کر بھی تلاوت اور رکوع و سجود فرماتے تھے۔
Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allaho Anha se marvi hai ki raat ki namaz mein Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam tawil qayam farmate aur kafi der tak bethte, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam khare ho kar bhi tilawat aur ruku farmate thay aur beth kar bhi tilawat aur ruku o sijda farmate thay.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا، فَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَائِمًا، رَكَعَ قَائِمًا، وَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَاعِدًا، رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا" .
