The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2571
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would drink any beverage, he would pause to breathe twice during the course of drinking it.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب کوئی مشروب پیتے تو اسے پینے کے دوران دو مرتبہ سانس لیتے تھے۔

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ , وَجَدْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ كُرَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" إِذَا شَرِبَ تَنَفَّسَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فِي الشَّرَابِ" , وَكَتَبَ أَبِي فِي أَثَرِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، لَا أُرَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ سَمِعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ.
