Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25829
Abdullah bin Shiqeeq said that once he asked Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would recite several Surahs in one Rak'ah. She said, (he would recite) the Mufassal Surahs. I asked Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her), did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray sitting? She said, (yes) after the number of people (in the congregation) increased. I asked Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her), did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to pray Chast (forenoon prayer)? She said, no, except when he would return from a journey. I asked Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her), did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast the whole month? She said, I don't know of any month other than Ramadan in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would keep all the fasts and I don't know of any month in which he did not keep any fasts. Abdullah says that I asked Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) who was the most beloved companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She said, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). I asked, then who? She said, Umar. I asked, then who? She said, Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah. I asked, then who? She remained silent.

عبداللہ بن شقیق کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کہ کیا نبی ﷺ ایک رکعت میں کئی سورتیں پڑھ لیتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا مفصلات۔ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کیا نبی ﷺ بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھتے تھے، انہوں نے فرمایا لوگوں کی تعداد زیادہ ہونے کے بعد پڑھنے لگے تھے۔ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کیا نبی ﷺ چاشت کی نماز پڑھا کرتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا نہیں، الاّ یہ کہ وہ کسی سفر سے واپس آئے ہوں۔ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا کیا نبی ﷺ کسی مہینے کے پورے روزے رکھتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ مجھے رمضان کے علاوہ کوئی ایسا مہینہ معلوم نہیں ہے جس کے پورے روزے نبی ﷺ نے رکھے ہوں اور مجھے کوئی ایسا مہنیہ بھی معلوم نہیں ہے جس میں کوئی روزہ نہ رکھا ہو۔ عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا نبی ﷺ کو اپنے صحابہ اکرام میں سب سے زیادہ محبوب کون تھا؟ انہوں نے فرمایا حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ میں نے پوچھا اس کے بعد؟ انہوں نے فرمایا عمر، میں نے پوچھا اس کے بعد؟ انہوں نے فرمایا ابوعبیدہ بن جراح، میں نے پوچھا اس کے بعد؟ تو وہ خاموش رہے۔
Abdullah bin Shaqiq kehte hain ke ek martaba maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se poocha ke kya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ek rakat mein kai surtein padh lete the? Unhon ne farmaya mufassal. Maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se poocha kya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) baith kar namaz parhte the, unhon ne farmaya logon ki tadad zyada hone ke baad parhne lage the. Maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se poocha kya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) chast ki namaz parha karte the? Unhon ne farmaya nahin, illa ye ke woh kisi safar se wapas aaye hon. Maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se poocha kya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kisi mahine ke poore roze rakhte the? Unhon ne farmaya ke mujhe Ramzan ke ilawa koi aisa mahina maloom nahin hai jis ke poore roze Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne rakhe hon aur mujhe koi aisa mahina bhi maloom nahin hai jis mein koi roza na rakha ho. Abdullah kehte hain ke maine Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se poocha Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko apne sahaba ikram mein sab se zyada mahboob kon tha? Unhon ne farmaya Hazrat Abubakar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) maine poocha is ke baad? Unhon ne farmaya Umar, maine poocha is ke baad? Unhon ne farmaya Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah, maine poocha is ke baad? To woh khamosh rahe.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ , وَيَزِيدُ الْمَعْنَى , قَالَا: أَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ , قَال: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَة َأَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقْرَأُ السُّوَرَ؟ قَالَتْ: " الْمُفَصّلَ" قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا؟ قَالَت:" نَعَمْ بَعْدَمَا حَطَمَهُ النَّاسُ" قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى , قَالَتْ:" لَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِيءَ مِنْ مَغِيبِهِ" قُلْتُ: أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ؟ قَالَت: ْلَا وَاللَّهِ إِنْ صَامَ شَهْرًا تَامًّا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ , وَلَا أَفْطَرَهُ كُلَّهُ حَتَّى يَصُومَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا , قُلْت: ُأَيُّ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ؟ قَالَت:" أَبُو بَكْرٍ" , قُلْت: ُثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَالَت:" ثُمَّ عُمَرُ" , قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَن؟ قَالَت:" أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ" قَال: َيَزِيدُ , قُلْتُ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟ قَال: َفَسَكَتَتْ .
