Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25843
It is narrated on the authority of Aisha Radi Allahu Anha that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) intended to perform the sacrifice, he would buy two rams, both of which were well-fed, fresh, healthy, horned, beautiful, and castrated. He would sacrifice one of them on behalf of those members of his Ummah who remained steadfast on the declaration of Tawheed (oneness of Allah) and testified that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had conveyed the message of Allah. The other animal he (peace be upon him) would sacrifice on behalf of himself and his family.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب قربانی کا ارادہ فرماتے تو دو مینڈھے خریدتے جو خوب موٹے تازے، صحت مند، سینگدار، خوبصورت اور خصی ہوتے تھے اور ان میں سے ایک اپنی امت کے ان لوگوں کی طرف سے ذبح فرماتے جو توحید کے اقرار پر قائم ہوئے اور اس بات کی گواہی دیتے ہوں کہ نبی ﷺ نے پیغام الٰہی پہنچا دیا اور دوسرا جانور محمد ﷺ و آل محمد کر طرف سے قربان کرتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ , قَالَ: أَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ:" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا ضَحَّى , اشْتَرَى كَبْشَيْنِ عَظِيمَيْنِ سَمِينَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ مَوْجُوءَيْنِ , قَالَ: فَيَذْبَحُ أَحَدَهُمَا عَنْ أُمَّتِهِ مِمَّنْ أَقَرَّ بِالتَّوْحِيدِ وَشَهِدَ لَهُ بِالْبَلَاغِ , وَيَذْبَحُ الْآخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ" .
