Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26102
It is narrated on the authority of Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha Radi Allahu Anha that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would observe Itikaf and put his head out of the mosque, and I would comb it. He would only enter the house to perform Wudu.

ام المؤمنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ معتکف ہوتے اور مسجد سے اپنا سر نکال دیتے، میں اسے کنگھی کردیتی اور وہ گھر میں صرف وضو کے لئے ہی آتے تھے۔
Um ul momineen hazrat ayesha razi Allah anha se marvi hai keh nabi salAllahu alaihi wasallam aitkaf hote aur masjid se apna sar nikal dete, mein use kanghi kar deti aur wo ghar mein sirf wuzu ke liye hi aate thay.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ: " وَإِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيُدْخِلُ عَلَيَّ رَأْسَهُ , وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ , فَأُرَجِّلُهُ , وَكَانَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ إِلَّا لِحَاجَةٍ إِلَّا إِذَا أَرَادَ الْوُضُوءَ وَهُوَ مُعْتَكِفٌ" .
