Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26234
It is narrated on the authority of Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would pray at night and I would lie down between him and the Qibla like a corpse. When he wanted to pray Witr, he would touch my feet and I would understand that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had started praying Witr, so I would move back.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ بعض اوقات نبی ﷺ رات کو نماز پڑھتے تو میں ان کے اور قبلے کے درمیان جنازے کی طرح لیٹی ہوتی تھی، جب وہ وتر پڑھنا چاہتے تو میرے پاؤں کو چھو دیتے، میں سمجھ جاتی کہ نبی ﷺ وتر پڑھنے لگے ہیں لہذا میں پیچھے ہٹ جاتی۔
Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ke baaz auqat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) raat ko namaz parhte to main un ke aur qibla ke darmiyan janaze ki tarah leti hoti thi, jab wo witr parhna chahte to mere paon ko chhu dete, main samajh jati ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) witr parhne lage hain lihaza main peeche hat jati.
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ , قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ , عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ , عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ: " إِنْ كَانَ لَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَإِنِّي لَمُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ اعْتِرَاضَ الْجِنَازَةِ , حَتَّى إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُوتِرَ , مَسَّنِي بِرِجْلِهِ , فَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ يُوتِرُ , تَأَخَّرْتُ شَيْئًا مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ" .
