The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2639
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived in Makkah al-Mukarramah with his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) for 'Umrat al-Qada, they were weak due to the fever of Madinah al-Munawwarah. The polytheists started mocking them, saying that a nation was coming to them, weakened by the fever of Yathrib. Allah informed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) of their words. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to perform Raml. The polytheists were watching the Muslims, sitting in the corner of Hajr Aswad. When the Muslims started performing Raml and walking between Rukn Yamani and Hajr Aswad, the polytheists said to each other, "Are these the ones you thought were weakened by the fever of Yathrib? They look even stronger than so-and-so." Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had ordered them to perform Raml in the entire circuit only to further solidify this regret in the hearts of the polytheists.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ اپنے صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم کے ہمراہ جب عمرۃ القضا کے موقع پر مکہ مکرمہ پہنچے تو مدینہ منورہ کے بخار کی وجہ سے وہ لوگ کمزور ہو چکے تھے، مشرکین استہزاء کرنے لگے کہ تمہارے پاس ایک ایسی قوم آ رہی ہے جسے یثرب کے بخار نے لاغر کر دیا ہے، اللہ نے نبی ﷺ کو ان کی اس بات کی اطلاع دے دی، نبی ﷺ نے صحابہ کرام رضوان اللہ علیہم کو رمل کرنے کا حکم دے دیا، مشرکین حجر اسود والے کونے میں بیٹھے مسلمانوں کو دیکھ رہے تھے، جب مسلمانوں نے رمل کرنا اور رکن یمانی اور حجر اسود کے درمیان چلنا شروع کیا تو مشرکین آپس میں کہنے لگے کہ یہ وہی ہیں جن کے بارے تم یہ سمجھ رہے تھے کہ انہیں یثرب کے بخار نے لاغر کردیا ہے، یہ تو فلاں فلاں سے بھی زیادہ طاقتور معلوم ہو رہے ہیں، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ مشرکین کے دلوں میں اس افسوس کو مزید پختہ کرنے کے لئے ہی تو نبی ﷺ نے پورے چکر میں رمل کرنے کا حکم دیا تھا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apne Sahaba Kiram (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke hamrah jab Umrat al Qada ke mauke par Makkah Mukarramah pahunche to Madina Munawwara ke Bukhar ki wajah se wo log kamzor ho chuke thay, Mushrikeen istehza karne lage ki tumhare pass ek aisi qaum aa rahi hai jise Yasrib ke Bukhar ne laghar kar diya hai, Allah ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko un ki is baat ki ittila de di, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sahaba Kiram Rizwan Allahu Alaihim ko ramal karne ka hukum de diya, Mushrikeen Hajar Aswad wale kone me baithe Musalmanon ko dekh rahe thay, jab Musalmanon ne ramal karna aur Rukn Yamani aur Hajar Aswad ke darmiyan chalna shuru kiya to Mushrikeen aapas me kahne lage ki ye wohi hain jin ke bare tum ye samajh rahe thay ki inhen Yasrib ke Bukhar ne laghar kardiya hai, ye to falan falan se bhi zyada taqatwar malum ho rahe hain, Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki Mushrikeen ke dilon me is afsosh ko mazeed pakka karne ke liye hi to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pure chakkar me ramal karne ka hukum diya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَقَدْ وَهَنَتْهُمْ حُمَّى يَثْرِبَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ: إِنَّهُ يَقْدُمُ عَلَيْكُمْ قَوْمٌ قَدْ وَهَنَتْهُمْ الْحُمَّى , قَالَ: فَأَطْلَعَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ،" فَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ أَنْ يَرْمُلُوا، وَقَعَدَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَاحِيَةَ الْحَجَرِ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَرَمَلُوا وَمَشَوْا مَا بَيْنَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ"، قَالَ: فَقَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ تَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ الْحُمَّى وَهَنَتْهُمْ؟! هَؤُلَاءِ أَقْوَى مِنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا , ذَكَرُوا قَوْلَهُمْ، قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُمْ أَنْ يَرْمُلُوا الْأَشْوَاطَ كُلَّهَا إِلَّا إِبْقَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ" , وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ حَمَّادًا يُحَدِّثُهُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَوْ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عن بن عباس , وقد سمعت حماداً يذكره , عن ابن جبير , لَا شَكَّ فِيهِ عَنْهُ.
