Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26429
Narrated Hafsah: At the time of dawn, when the Mu'adh-dhin (call to prayer) would be called, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two light rak'ahs (units of prayer) before the Fajr prayer.

حضرت حفصہ سے مروی ہے کہ طلوع صبح صادق کے وقت جب کہ مؤذن اذان دے دیتا نبی ﷺ نماز کھڑی ہونے سے پہلے مختصر دو رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے۔
Hazrat Hafsa se marvi hai ki tuloo subah sadiq ke waqt jab ki moazzin azan de deta Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) namaz khari hone se pehle mukhtasar do rakat namaz parhte thay.
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ : مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا: " سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالصُّبْحِ، وَبَدَا الصُّبْحُ، صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ" .
