Hadith of Hafsa, the Mother of the Believers, daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26436
It is narrated on the authority of Hafsa that in the year of Hajj-e-Wida, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered his pure wives to end their state of Ihram. Someone asked in the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, what is this? People have already ended their Ihram, but you have not yet come out of the Ihram of your Umrah." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Actually, I had put a garland around the neck of the Hadi animal and had shortened my hair, so I cannot end my Ihram until I finish the rituals of Hajj."

حضرت حفصہ سے مروی ہے کہ حجۃ الوداع کے سال نبی ﷺ نے اپنی ازواج مطہرات کو احرام کھول لینے کا حکم دیا تو کسی نے بارگاہ رسالت میں عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ یہ کیا بات ہے کہ لوگ تو اپنے احرام کو کھول چکے ہیں لیکن آپ اپنے عمرے کے احرام سے نہیں نکلے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا دراصل میں نے ہدی کے جانور کے گلے میں قلادہ باندھ لیا تھا اور اپنے سرکے بالوں کو جمالیا تھا اس لئے میں اس وقت تک احرام نہیں کھول سکتا جب تک کہ حج کے احرام سے فارغ نہ ہوجاؤں۔
Hazrat Hafsa se marvi hai ki Hajjat ul Vida ke saal Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni azwaj mutahhirat ko ehram khol lene ka hukum diya to kisi ne bargah risalat mein arz kiya Ya Rasul Allah ye kya baat hai ki log to apne ehram ko khol chuke hain lekin aap apne umre ke ehram se nahi nikle? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya darasal maine hadi ke janwar ke gale mein qilada bandh liya tha aur apne sar ke baalon ko jamaliya tha isliye mein iss waqt tak ehram nahi khol sakta jab tak ki Hajj ke ehram se farigh na ho jaon.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ نَافِعٌ : كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ , أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَمَرَ أَزْوَاجَهُ أَنْ يَحْلِلْنَ عَامَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ فُلَانَةُ: فَمَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَحِلَّ؟ فَقَالَ: " إِنِّي لَبَّدْتُ رَأْسِي، وَقَلَّدْتُ هَدْيِي، فَلَسْتُ أَحِلُّ حَتَّى أَنْحَرَ هَدْيِي" .
