The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2649
Abu Juhayra (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, "I used to keep the uncontrolled crowd away from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). But for a while, I couldn't do that. Later, when I came into his presence, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked me the reason for not coming for so many days. I said, 'I had a fever.' Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, 'The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it down with Zamzam water.'"

ابوجمرہ رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے لوگوں کے بےقابو ہجوم کو دور رکھتا تھا، لیکن کچھ عرصہ نہ جا سکا، بعد میں جب حاضر خدمت ہوا تو سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے مجھ سے اتنے دن نہ آنے کی وجہ پوچھی، میں نے عرض کیا کہ بخار ہو گیا تھا، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہنے لگے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”بخار جہنم کی گرمی کا اثر ہوتا ہے اس لئے اسے آب زمزم سے ٹھنڈا کیا کرو۔“
Abu Juhayra rahmatullah alayh kahte hain ki main Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se logon ke beqaboo hujoom ko door rakhta tha, lekin kuchh arsa na ja saka, baad mein jab hazir khidmat hua to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne mujh se itne din na aane ki wajah poochhi, maine arz kiya ki bukhar ho gaya tha, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kahne lage ki Rasul Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam ne irshad farmaya: "Bukhar jahannum ki garmi ka asar hota hai is liye ise aab e zamzam se thanda kya karo."
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَدْفَعُ النَّاسَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَاحْتَبَسْتُ أَيَّامًا، فَقَالَ: مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قُلْتُ: الْحُمَّى , قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ".
