The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2651
Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by me while I was playing with some children. I hid behind a door. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called me, and playfully threw me on the ground. Then he told me to go to Amir Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was his scribe at that time, and call him to him, saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) needed him for something. So, I ran to Mu'awiyah and told him that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wanted him.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کا ایک مرتبہ میرے قریب سے گزر ہوا، میں اس وقت بچوں کے ساتھ کھیل رہا تھا، میں ایک دروازے کے پیچھے جا کر چھپ گیا، نبی ﷺ نے مجھے بلایا اور پیار سے زمین پر پچھاڑ دیا، پھر مجھے سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس انہیں بلانے کے لئے بھیج دیا، وہ نبی ﷺ کے کاتب تھے، میں دوڑتا ہوا ان کے پاس گیا اور ان سے کہا کہ نبی ﷺ کے پاس چلیے، انہیں آپ سے ایک کام ہے۔
Saina Ibne Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka aik martaba mere qareeb se guzar hua, mein us waqt bachchon ke sath khel raha tha, mein aik darwaze ke peeche ja kar chhup gaya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe bulaya aur pyaar se zameen par patak diya, phir mujhe Saidina Ameer Muawiya Raziallahu Anhu ke paas unhen bulane ke liye bhej diya, woh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke katib the, mein daudta hua unke paas gaya aur unse kaha ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas chaliye, unhen aapse ek kaam hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ: كُنْتُ غُلَامًا أَسْعَى مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ، قَالَ: فَالْتَفَتُّ، فَإِذَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَلْفِي مُقْبِلًا، فَقُلْتُ: مَا جَاءَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا إِلَيَّ، قَالَ: فَسَعَيْتُ حَتَّى أَخْتَبِئَ وَرَاءَ بَابِ دَارٍ، قَالَ: فَلَمْ أَشْعُرْ حَتَّى تَنَاوَلَنِي، قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ بِقَفَايَ، فَحَطَأَنِي حَطْأَةً، قَالَ:" اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي مُعَاوِيَةَ" , وَكَانَ كَاتِبَهُ، قَالَ: فَسَعَيْتُ، فَقُلْتُ: أَجِبْ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَإِنَّهُ عَلَى حَاجَةٍ.
