Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26614
It is narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was unable to offer the two rak'ahs (units of prayer) after Zuhr (noon prayer). So, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered them after Asr (afternoon prayer). I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, you did not offer this prayer before." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The delegation of Banu Tamim had arrived, due to which I missed the two rak'ahs that I usually pray after Zuhr."

حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ ظہر کے بعد کی دو رکعتیں نہیں پڑھ سکے تھے، سو نبی ﷺ نے وہ عصر کے بعد پڑھ لی تھیں، میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ اس سے پہلے تو آپ یہ نماز نہیں پڑھتے تھے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا دراصل بنوتمیم کا وفد آگیا تھا جس کی وجہ سے ظہر کے بعد کی جو دو رکعتیں میں پڑھتا تھا وہ رہ گئی تھیں۔
Hazrat Umm e Salma raziallahu anha se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) zuhar ke baad ki do rakaten nahi parh sake thy, so Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wo asr ke baad parh li thi, main ne arz kiya Ya Rasul Allah is se pehle to aap ye namaz nahi parhte thy, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya darasal Banu Tamim ka wafad aa gaya tha jis ki wajah se zuhar ke baad ki jo do rakaten main parhta tha wo reh gai thi.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ: " شُغِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ، فَصَلَّاهُمَا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ" .
