Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26678
It is narrated on the authority of Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered the Zuhr prayer. On that day, some wealth had come from somewhere, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sat down to distribute it until the Mu'azzin came to give the Adhan (call to prayer) for Asr. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed Asr and came to my house, because it was my turn that day, and prayed two short Rak'ahs there. Upon this I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what are these two Rak'ahs that you have been commanded to perform?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No, rather these are the Rak'ahs that I used to pray after Zuhr, but I was so busy in the distribution of wealth that the Mu'azzin came to me with the news of the Asr prayer, and I did not consider it appropriate to leave them (so I prayed them now)." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, can we also make up for them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No."

حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے ظہر کی نماز پڑھائی اس دن کہیں سے مال آیا ہوا تھا، نبی ﷺ اسے تقسیم کرنے کے لئے بیٹھ گئے حتی کہ مؤذن عصر کی اذان دینے لگا نبی ﷺ نے عصر کی نماز پڑھی اور میرے ہاں تشریف لے آئے کیونکہ اس دن میری باری تھی اور میرے یہاں دو مختصر رکعتیں پڑھیں اس پر میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ یہ دو رکعتیں کیسی ہیں جن کا آپ کو حکم دیا گیا ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا نہیں بلکہ یہ وہ رکعتیں ہیں جو میں ظہر کے بعد پڑھا کرتا تھا لیکن مال کی تقسم میں ایسا مشغول ہوا کہ مؤذن میرے پاس عصر کی نماز کی اطلاع لے کر آگیا، میں نے انہیں چھوڑنا مناسب نہ سمجھا (اس لئے اب پڑھ لیا) میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ! کیا ہم بھی ان کی قضاء کرسکتے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا نہیں۔
Hazrat Umm Salma ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ke ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Zuhr ki namaz parhai us din kahin se maal aaya hua tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) use taqseem karne ke liye baith gaye hatta ke Moazzin Asr ki azan dene laga Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Asr ki namaz parhi aur mere han tashreef le aaye kyunki us din meri baari thi aur mere yahan do mukhtasir rakaten parhin is par maine arz kiya Ya Rasulullah yeh do rakaten kaisi hain jin ka aap ko hukum diya gaya hai? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya nahin balke yeh woh rakaten hain jo main Zuhr ke baad parha karta tha lekin maal ki taqseem mein aisa mashghul hua ke Moazzin mere pass Asr ki namaz ki ittila lane ke liye aagaya, maine unhen chhorna munasib na samjha (is liye ab parh liya) maine arz kiya Ya Rasulullah! kya hum bhi in ki qaza kar sakte hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya nahin.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَزْرَقِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَتْ: صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْعَصْرَ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بَيْتِي، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، صَلَّيْتَ صَلَاةً لَمْ تَكُنْ تُصَلِّيهَا، فَقَالَ: " قَدِمَ عَلَيَّ مَالٌ، فَشَغَلَنِي عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ كُنْتُ أَرْكَعُهُمَا بَعْدَ الظُّهْرِ، فَصَلَّيْتُهُمَا الْآنَ" , فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَفَنَقْضِيهِمَا إِذَا فَاتَتَا، قَالَ:" لَا" .
