The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2672
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any one of you eats food, let him not wipe his hand till he has licked it, or has had it licked by somebody else." Abu Zubair said: "I heard the same hadith from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) with this addition: '...Let him not lift the bowl till he has licked it himself or somebody else has licked it for him, for he does not know in what portion of his food the blessing lies.'"

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص کھانا کھائے تو وہ اپنے ہاتھ چاٹنے یا کسی کو چٹانے سے پہلے نہ پونچھے۔“ ابوالزبیر کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے یہی حدیث سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے اس طرح سنی ہے کہ ”پیالہ اس وقت تک نہ اٹھایا جائے جب تک خود یا کوئی دوسرا اسے چاٹ نہ لے کیونکہ کھانے کے آخری حصے میں برکت ہوتی ہے۔“
Seyedna Ibn Abbas Raziallahu Anhuma se marvi hai ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Jab tum mein se koi shakhs khana khaye to wo apne hath chatne ya kisi ko chatwane se pehle na ponchhe." Abualzubair kehte hain ke maine yahi hadees Seyedna Jaber Raziallahu Anhu se is tarah suni hai ke "Piyala us waqt tak na uthaya jaye jab tak khud ya koi dusra use chat na le kyunki khane ke aakhri hisse mein barkat hoti hai."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، فَلَا يَمْسَحْ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا" , قَالَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ: سَمِعْتُهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" وَلَا يَرْفَعْ الصَّحْفَةَ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا، فَإِنَّ آخِرَ الطَّعَامِ فِيهِ الْبَرَكَةُ".
