The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2673

It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that I prayed the eclipse prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but I did not hear a single letter of the Qur'an from him while he was reciting aloud.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ سورج گرہن کی نماز پڑھی ہے، لیکن میں نے اس میں نبی ﷺ کو بلند آواز سے قراءت کرتے ہوئے ان سے قرآن کا ایک حرف بھی نہیں سنا۔

Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath Suraj Grahan ki namaz parhi hai, lekin maine is mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko buland aawaz se qirat karte hue un se Quran ka ek harf bhi nahin suna.

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكُسُوفَ، فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنْهُ فِيهَا حَرْفًا مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ".
