Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26800
It is narrated by Maimoona that once in the morning, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) felt uneasy. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter that you seem uneasy this morning?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Angel Gabriel had promised to meet me but he has not come, though he has never broken a promise before." Gabriel did not come for three nights. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) attributed this to a puppy lying under our bed. So, on the order of the Prophet (peace be upon him), it was taken out and thrown away after pouring water over it. A little later, Gabriel came. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "You had promised to come but you did not appear?" He replied, "We do not enter a house where there is a dog or a picture." So, the Prophet (peace be upon him) on that very day ordered the killing of dogs, even if a person asked permission for a small dog for the protection of his garden, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would order him to kill it as well.

حضرت میمونہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ صبح کے وقت ہی نبی ﷺ کی طبیعت بوجھل محسوس ہوئی تو کسی نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ کیا بات ہے کہ آج صبح ہی آپ کی طبیعت بوجھل محسوس ہو رہی ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا مجھ سے حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے ملاقات کا وعدہ کیا تھا لیکن وہ آئے نہیں حالانکہ انہوں نے کبھی خلاف وعدہ نہیں کیا تین راتوں تک جبرائیل نہ آئے پھر نبی ﷺ نے ہماری چارپائی کے نیچے کتے کے ایک پلے کو اس کا سبب قرار دیا چنانچہ نبی ﷺ کے حکم پر اسے نکال دیا گیا اور پانی لے کر وہاں بہا دیا گیا تھوڑی ہی دیر میں حضرت جبرائیل علیہ السلام آگئے نبی ﷺ نے ان سے فرمایا کہ آپ نے مجھ سے آنے کا وعدہ کیا تھا لیکن نظر نہیں آئے؟ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ ہم اس گھر میں داخل نہیں ہوتے جس میں کتا یا تصویر ہو تو نبی ﷺ نے اسی دن کتوں کو مارنے کا حکم دیدیا حتی کہ اگر کوئی شخص اپنے باغ کی حفاظت کے لئے چھوٹے کتے کی اجازت بھی مانگتا تو نبی ﷺ اسے بھی قتل کرنے کا حکم دیتے تھے۔
Hazrat Maimoona se marvi hai keh aik martaba subah ke waqt hi Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ki tabiyat bojhal mehsoos hui to kisi ne poocha Ya Rasulullah kya baat hai keh aaj subah hi aap ki tabiyat bojhal mehsoos ho rahi hai? Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya mujh se Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihissalam ne mulaqat ka wada kiya tha lekin woh aaye nahin halankeh unhon ne kabhi khilaf waada nahin kiya teen raaton tak Jibraeel na aaye phir Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne hamari charpai ke neeche kutte ke aik palay ko is ka sabab qarar diya chunacha Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke hukum per ise nikal diya gaya aur pani le kar wahan baha diya gaya thodi hi der mein Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihissalam aa gaye Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne un se farmaya keh aap ne mujh se aane ka wada kiya tha lekin nazar nahin aaye? Unhon ne arz kiya keh hum is ghar mein dakhil nahin hote jis mein kutta ya tasveer ho to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne usi din kutton ko marne ka hukum de diya hatta keh agar koi shakhs apne bagh ki hifazat ke liye chhote kutte ki ijazat bhi mangta to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) use bhi qatal karne ka hukum dete the.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاثِرًا، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: مَا لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصْبَحْتَ خَاثِرًا؟ قَالَ: " وَعَدَنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام أَنْ يَلْقَانِي، فَلَمْ يَلْقَنِي، وَمَا أَخْلَفَنِي" , فَلَمْ يَأْتِهِ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، وَلَا الثَّانِيَةَ، وَلَا الثَّالِثَةَ، ثُمَّ اتَّهَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَرْوَ كَلْبٍ , وَكَانَ تَحْتَ نَضَدِنَا، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ، فَأُخْرِجَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ مَاءً، فَرَشَّ مَكَانَهُ، فَجَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام، فَقَالَ:" وَعَدْتَنِي، فَلَمْ أَرَكَ؟" قَالَ: إِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا صُورَةٌ , قال: فَأَمَرَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ , قَالَ: حَتَّى كَانَ يُسْتَأْذَنُ فِي كَلْبِ الْحَائِطِ الصَّغِيرِ، فَيَأْمُرُ بِهِ أَنْ يُقْتَلَ .
