Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26839
Abdullah bin Harith narrated that once Amir Muawiyah led us in Asr prayer. Afterwards, he sent a messenger to Maimoona and another man behind him. Maimoona said, "Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was dispatching an army and he didn't have any mounts available. After a while, some animals from Zakat and Sadaqah arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) started distributing them amongst the people. Due to this engagement, the time for Asr prayer came in. Now, it was the blessed practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to pray two rak'ahs, or as many as Allah willed, before Asr prayer. So on that day, after praying Asr, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered those two rak'ahs that he usually prayed beforehand. It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that whenever he started doing something, he would prefer to remain consistent with it."

عبداللہ بن حارث کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت امیر معاویہ نے ہمیں نماز عصر پڑھائی اور اس کے بعد حضرت میمونہ کے پاس ایک قاصد اور اس کے پیچھے ایک اور آدمی کو بھیجا، حضرت میمونہ نے فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کسی لشکر کو روانہ فرما رہے تھے، اس وقت نبی ﷺ کے پاس سواریاں نہیں تھیں، تھوڑی دیر بعد زکوٰۃ و صدقات کے کچھ جانورآ گئے تو نبی ﷺ ان لوگوں کے درمیان انہیں تقسیم فرمانے لگے، اسی مصروفیت میں نماز عصر کا وقت ہوگیا، ادھر نبی ﷺ کا یہ معمول مبارک تھا کہ نماز عصر سے پہلے دو رکعتیں یا جتنی اللہ کو منظور ہوتی نماز پڑھتے تھے اس دن نماز عصر پڑھ کر نبی ﷺ نے وہ دو رکعتیں پڑھ لیں جو نبی ﷺ پہلے پڑھا کرتے تھے اور نبی ﷺ کا معمول تھا کہ جب بھی کوئی کام کرتے تو اس پر مداومت کرنے کو پسند فرماتے تھے۔
Abdullah bin Haris kahte hain ke ek martaba Hazrat Amir Muawiya ne hamen namaz Asr parhayi aur uske baad Hazrat Maymunah ke paas ek qasid aur uske peechhe ek aur aadmi ko bheja, Hazrat Maymunah ne farmaya ke ek martaba Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) kisi lashkar ko rawana farma rahe the, us waqt Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke paas sawariyan nahin thin, thori der baad zakat o sadqat ke kuch jaanwar aa gaye to Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) un logon ke darmiyan unhen taqseem farmane lage, isi masrofiat mein namaz Asr ka waqt hogaya, udhar Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka ye mamul mubarak tha ke namaz Asr se pehle do rakat ya jitni Allah ko manzur hoti namaz parhte the us din namaz Asr parh kar Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne woh do rakaten parh lin jo Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) pehle parhaya karte the aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ka mamul tha ke jab bhi koi kaam karte to us par mudawamat karne ko pasand farmate the.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، قَالَ: صَلَّى بِنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى مَيْمُونَةَ ، ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ رَجُلًا آخَرَ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يُجَهِّزُ بَعْثًا، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ عِنْدَهُ ظَهْرٌ، فَجَاءَهُ ظَهْرٌ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَجَعَلَ يَقْسِمُهُ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَحَبَسُوهُ حَتَّى أَرْهَقَ الْعَصْرَ، وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، أَوْ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، فَصَلَّى الْعَصْرَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ، فَصَلَّى مَا كَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَهَا، وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً أَوْ فَعَلَ شَيْئًا، يُحِبُّ أَنْ يُدَاوِمَ عَلَيْهِ" .
