The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2762
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the chiefs of Quraysh gathered in Hateem and made a covenant in the name of their false deities - Lat, Uzza, Manat, Nailah, and Isaf - that if they saw Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), they would all stand together and not separate from him without killing him. Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) heard this. She came crying to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "The chiefs of Quraysh are making this covenant against you that if they see you, they will come forward and kill you, and every one of them is thirsty for your blood." Hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Daughter! Bring me some water for ablution." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed ablution and went to Masjid al-Haram. When those people saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), they said, "Here he is." But then, who knows what happened, they lowered their gaze, their chins dropped to their chests, and they remained sitting in their places, astonished and bewildered. They could neither look up at the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), nor could any of them get up and move towards him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) walked towards them and stood over their heads. He picked up a handful of dust and said, "May these faces be disfigured," and threw the dust at them. Every person upon whom that dust fell was killed in the state of disbelief on the Day of Badr.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ سرداران قریش ایک مرتبہ حطیم میں جمع ہوئے اور لات، عزی، منات، نائلہ اور اساف نامی اپنے معبودان باطلہ کے نام پر یہ عہد و پیمان کیا کہ اگر ہم نے محمد ﷺ کو دیکھ لیا تو ہم سب اکٹھے کھڑے ہوں گے اور انہیں قتل کئے بغیر ان سے جدا نہ ہوں گے، سیدہ فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے یہ بات سن لی، وہ روتی ہوئی نبی ﷺ کے پاس آئیں اور کہنے لگیں کہ سرداران قریش آپ کے متعلق یہ عہد و پیمان کر رہے ہیں کہ اگر انہوں نے آپ کو دیکھ لیا تو وہ آگے بڑھ کر آپ کو قتل کر دیں گے، اور ان میں سے ہر ایک آپ کے خون کا پیاسا ہو رہا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے یہ سن کر فرمایا: ”بیٹی! ذرا وضو کا پانی تو لاؤ۔“ نبی ﷺ نے وضو کیا اور مسجد حرام میں تشریف لے گئے، ان لوگوں نے جب نبی ﷺ کو دیکھا تو کہنے لگے: وہ یہ رہے، لیکن پھر نہ جانے کیا ہوا کہ انہوں نے اپنی نگاہیں جھکا لیں، اور ان کی ٹھوڑیاں ان کے سینوں پر لٹک گئیں، اور وہ اپنی اپنی جگہ پر حیران پریشان بیٹھے رہ گئے، وہ نگاہ اٹھا کر نبی ﷺ کو دیکھ سکے اور نہ ہی ان میں سے کوئی آدمی اٹھ کر نبی ﷺ کی طرف بڑھا، نبی ﷺ ان کی طرف چلتے ہوئے آئے، یہاں تک کہ ان کے سروں کے پاس پہنچ کر کھڑے ہو گئے اور ایک مٹھی بھر کر مٹی اٹھائی اور فرمایا: ”یہ چہرے بگڑ جائیں“ اور وہ مٹی ان پر پھینک دی، جس جس شخص پر وہ مٹی گری، وہ جنگ بدر کے دن کفر کی حالت میں مارا گیا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas Radi Allah Anhuma se marvi hai ki sardaran Quresh ek martaba Hateem mein jama hue aur Laat, Uzza, Manat, Naila aur Isaf nami apne maboodan baatila ke naam par yeh ahd o paiman kya ki agar humne Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekh liya to hum sab ikatthe kharay honge aur unhein qatl kiye baghair unse juda na honge, Sayyida Fatima Radi Allah Anha ne yeh baat sun li, woh roti hui Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass aayin aur kehne lagin ki sardaran Quresh aap ke mutalliq yeh ahd o paiman kar rahe hain ki agar unhon ne aap ko dekh liya to woh aage barh kar aap ko qatl kar denge, aur un mein se har ek aap ke khoon ka pyasa ho raha hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne yeh sunkar farmaya: ”Beti! Zara wuzu ka pani to lao.“ Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wuzu kiya aur Masjid Haram mein tashreef le gaye, un logon ne jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekha to kehne lage: Woh yeh rahe, lekin phir na jane kya hua ki unhon ne apni nigahein jhuka lin, aur un ki thodiyan un ke seenon par latak gayin, aur woh apni apni jagah par hairan pareshan baithe rahe, woh nigaah utha kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko dekh sake aur na hi un mein se koi aadmi uth kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki taraf barha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) un ki taraf chalte hue aaye, yahan tak ki un ke saron ke pass pahunch kar kharay ho gaye aur ek muthi bhar kar mitti uthai aur farmaya: ”Yeh chehre bigar jayen“ aur woh mitti un par phenk di, jis jis shakhs par woh mitti giri, woh jang Badr ke din kufr ki halat mein mara gaya.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: إِنَّ الْمَلَأَ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ اجْتَمَعُوا فِي الْحِجْرِ، فَتَعَاقَدُوا بِاللَّاتِ وَالْعُزَّى، وَمَنَاةَ الثَّالِثَةِ الْأُخْرَى، وَنَائِلَةَ وَإِسَافٍ لَوْ قَدْ رَأَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا، لَقَدْ قُمْنَا إِلَيْهِ قِيَامَ رَجُلٍ وَاحِدٍ، فَلَمْ نُفَارِقْهُ حَتَّى نَقْتُلَهُ , فَأَقْبَلَتْ ابْنَتُهُ فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهَا تَبْكِي، حَتَّى دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: هَؤُلَاءِ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، قَدْ تَعَاقَدُوا عَلَيْكَ، لَوْ قَدْ رَأَوْكَ، لَقَدْ قَامُوا إِلَيْكَ فَقَتَلُوكَ، فَلَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ إِلَّا قَدْ عَرَفَ نَصِيبَهُ مِنْ دَمِكَ , فَقَالَ:" يَا بُنَيَّةُ، أَرِينِي وَضُوءًا" , فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ الْمَسْجِدَ، فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ، قَالُوا: هَا هُوَ ذَا، وَخَفَضُوا أَبْصَارَهُمْ، وَسَقَطَتْ أَذْقَانُهُمْ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ، وَعَقِرُوا فِي مَجَالِسِهِمْ، فَلَمْ يَرْفَعُوا إِلَيْهِ بَصَرًا، وَلَمْ يَقُمْ إِلَيْهِ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ، فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى قَامَ عَلَى رُءُوسِهِمْ، فَأَخَذَ قَبْضَةً مِنَ التُّرَابِ، فَقَالَ:" شَاهَتْ الْوُجُوهُ" , ثُمَّ حَصَبَهُمْ بِهَا، فَمَا أَصَابَ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْحَصَى حَصَاةٌ إِلَّا قُتِلَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ كَافِرًا.
