The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2878
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wanted to perform ablution from a waterskin. Someone told him that it was made of the skin of a dead animal. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Tanning removes their filth and impurity."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے کسی مشکیزے سے وضو کرنا چاہا تو کسی نے بتایا کہ یہ مردار جانور کی کھال کا بنا ہوا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ ”دباغت سے ان کی گندگی اور ناپاکی دور ہو جاتی ہے۔“
Sayyidina Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kisi mashkize se wuzu karna chaha to kisi ne bataya ki yah murdar janwar ki khal ka bana hua hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki "Dubaghat se in ki gandagi aur napaki door ho jati hai."
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ سِقَاءٍ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّهُ مَيْتَةٌ. قَالَ:" دِبَاغُهُ يُذْهِبُ خَبَثَهُ، أَوْ رِجْسَهُ، أَوْ نَجَسَهُ".
