The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3009
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sometimes fast continuously to the point where we would think he would never break his fast, and sometimes he would break his fast continuously to the point where we would think he would never fast again.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ بعض اوقات اس تسلسل کے ساتھ روزے رکھتے تھے کہ ہم لوگ کہتے تھے کہ اب نبی ﷺ کوئی روزہ نہیں چھوڑیں گے، اور بعض اوقات اس تسلسل سے افطار فرماتے تھے کہ ہم کہتے تھے کہ اب نبی ﷺ کوئی روزہ نہیں رکھیں گے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) baaz auqat iss tasalsul ke sath rozey rakhte thay ki hum log kahte thay ki ab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) koi roza nahi chhoren ge, aur baaz auqat iss tasalsul se iftar farmate thay ki hum kahte thay ki ab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) koi roza nahi rakhen ge.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ صَوْمِ رَجَبٍ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِيهِ؟ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ،" أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ".
