The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3008
Once, Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the meaning of this verse of the Quran: “When the Trumpet will be blown into.” (Al-Muddathir 74:8) He said, “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘How can I enjoy the pleasures of this life when the angel who will blow the trumpet has put the trumpet to his mouth and tilted his forehead (in anticipation), waiting for the command to blow it?’” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, “What should we supplicate (in this regard)?” He (the Prophet) replied, “Say: ‘Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs. In Allah, we have placed our trust.”’

ایک مرتبہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے اس آیت قرآنی: «﴿فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ﴾ [المدثر: 8] » ”جب صور پھونکا جائے گا۔“ کا مطلب پوچھا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”میں عیش و عشرت کی زندگی کیسے بسر کر سکتا ہوں جبکہ صور پھونکنے والے فرشتے نے صور کو اپنے منہ میں لے رکھا ہے اور اپنی پیشانی کو حکم سننے کے لئے جھکا رکھا ہے کہ جیسے ہی حکم ملے، صور پھونک دے“، صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے عرض کیا کہ ہمیں کیا دعا پڑھنی چاہیے؟ فرمایا: ”یہ کہتے رہا کرو: «حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا» ۔“
Ek martaba syedna ibn abbas razi allaho anhoma se is ayat qurani: "(faiza nuqira fil naqoor) [almuddassir: 8]" "jab soor phunka jaye ga" ka matlab poocha gaya to unhon ne kaha ke rasool allah sallallaho alaihi wasallam ne irshad farmaya: "main aish o ishrat ki zindagi kaise basar kar sakta hon jabke soor phunkne wale firishte ne soor ko apne munh me le rakha hai aur apni peshani ko hukum sunne ke liye jhuka rakha hai ke jaise hi hukum mile, soor phunk de", sahaba kiram razi allaho anhum ne arz kiya ke hamein kya dua parhni chahie? farmaya: "ye kehte raha karo: (hasbunallah wa ne'mal wakeel, alallah tawakkalna)"
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ سورة المدثر آية 8، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" كَيْفَ أَنْعَمُ وَصَاحِبُ الْقَرْنِ قَدْ الْتَقَمَ الْقَرْنَ، وَحَنَى جَبْهَتَهُ يَسَّمَّعُ مَتَى يُؤْمَرُ، فَيَنْفُخُ؟"، فَقَالَ: أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ: كَيْفَ نَقُولُ؟ قَالَ:" قُولُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ، وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ، عَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا".
