The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3040
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once his maternal aunt Sayyida Umm Hifaidh (may Allah be pleased with her) presented ghee, lizard meat, and cheese as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ate some of the ghee and cheese but left the lizard meat due to dislike. However, it is reported that others ate the lizard meat from the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) tablecloth. If it were forbidden to eat, it would never have been eaten from the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) tablecloth, nor would the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) have allowed it to be eaten.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ان کی خالہ سیدہ ام حفید رضی اللہ عنہا نے نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں گھی، گوہ اور پنیر بطور ہدیہ کے پیش کیا، نبی ﷺ نے گھی اور پنیر میں سے تو کچھ تناول فرما لیا، لیکن ناپسندیدگی کی بنا پر گوہ کو چھوڑ دیا، تاہم اسے نبی ﷺ کے دستر خوان پر دوسروں نے کھایا ہے، اگر اسے کھانا حرام ہوتا تو نبی ﷺ کے دستر خوان پر اسے کبھی نہ کھایا جا سکتا، اور نہ نبی ﷺ اسے کھانے کی اجازت دیتے۔
Sayyida Ibne Abbas Radi Allah Anhuma se marvi hai ki ek martaba unki khala Sayyida Umm e Hafid Radi Allah Anha ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein ghee, goh aur paneer ba tour hadiya ke pesh kia, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ghee aur paneer mein se to kuch tanavul farma liya, lekin napasandeedgi ki bina par goh ko chhor diya, taham use Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke dastarkhwan par doosron ne khaya hai, agar ise khana haram hota to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke dastarkhwan par ise kabhi na khaya ja sakta, aur na Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ise khane ki ijazat dete.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ أُمَّ حُفَيْدٍ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَزْنٍ، خَالَةَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَهْدَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمْنًا وَأَقِطًا وَأَضُبًّا، قَالَ: فَدَعَا بِهِنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأُكِلْنَ عَلَى مَائِدَتِهِ، وَتَرَكَهُنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَالْمُتَقَذِّرِ، فَلَوْ كُنَّ حَرَامًا، مَا أُكِلْنَ عَلَى مَائِدَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا أَمَرَ بِأَكْلِهِنَّ".
