The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3041
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the Day of 'Arafah, a man named Fulan (meaning 'so-and-so,' likely out of respect or to conceal his identity) was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The young man began to look at the women. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned his face away with his blessed hand several times, but he continued to look at them from the corner of his eye. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Dear nephew! Today is a day on which Allah will forgive the sins of the one who guards his ears, his eyes, and his tongue."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ عرفہ کے دن نبی ﷺ کے پیچھے فلاں (فضل) سوار تھا، وہ نوجوان، عورتوں کو دیکھنے لگا، نبی ﷺ نے اپنے دست مبارک سے اس کا چہرہ پیچھے کی طرف کئی مرتبہ پھیرا، لیکن وہ پھر بھی کن اکھیوں سے انہیں دیکھتا رہا، اس پر نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”بھتیجے! آج کا دن ایسا ہے کہ جو شخص اس میں اپنے کانوں اور اپنی آنکھوں اور زبان کی حفاظت کرے گا، اللہ اس کے گناہ معاف فرما دے گا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Arafah ke din Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke peeche falan (fazl) sawaar tha, woh jawan, auraton ko dekhne laga, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apne dast mubarak se us ka chehra peeche ki taraf kai martaba phera, lekin woh phir bhi kan aankhon se unhen dekhta raha, is par Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Bhatije! Aaj ka din aisa hai ki jo shakhs is mein apne kanoon aur apni aankhon aur zaban ki hifazat karega, Allah us ke gunah maaf farma dega.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُكَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ فُلَانٌ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ الْفَتَى يُلَاحِظُ النِّسَاءَ، وَيَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِنَّ، قَالَ: وَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَهُ بِيَدِهِ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ مِرَارًا، قَالَ: وَجَعَلَ الْفَتَى يُلَاحِظُ إِلَيْهِنَّ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" ابْنَ أَخِي، إِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمٌ مَنْ مَلَكَ فِيهِ سَمْعَهُ، وَبَصَرَهُ، وَلِسَانَهُ، غُفِرَ لَهُ".
