The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3139
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah).” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: “O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the سبيل of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the سبيل of Allah, except for the man who goes out with his life and wealth and returns with neither.”

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”عشرہ ذی الحجہ کے علاوہ کسی دن میں اللہ کو نیک اعمال اتنے محبوب نہیں جتنے ان دس دنوں میں محبوب ہیں“، صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! جہاد فی سبیل اللہ بھی نہیں؟ فرمایا: ”ہاں! البتہ وہ آدمی جو اپنی جان مال کو لے کر نکلا اور کچھ بھی واپس نہ لایا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: "Ashra Zil Hajj ke ilawa kisi din mein Allah ko nek amal itne mahboob nahin jitne in das dinon mein mahboob hain", Sahaba Kiram (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne arz kiya: Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Jihad fi sabilillah bhi nahin? Farmaya: "Haan! Albatta woh aadmi jo apni jaan maal ko lekar nikla aur kuchh bhi wapas na laya."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ، قَالَ:" مَا عَمَلٌ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ" يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ، قَالَ: فَقِيلَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، إِلَّا مَنْ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ".
