The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3181
Abu Hassan said that a man from Banu Hajim asked Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father: O Abu al-Abbas! What is the truth of this fatwa that has become very popular among people that whoever performs the Tawaf of the Ka'bah becomes lawful? He said: This is the Sunnah of your Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, even if it is disagreeable to you.

ابوحسان کہتے ہیں کہ بنو ہجیم کے ایک آدمی نے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے عرض کیا: اے ابوالعباس! لوگوں میں یہ فتوی جو بہت مشہور ہوا ہے اس کی کیا حقیقت ہے کہ جو شخص بیت اللہ کا طواف کر لے وہ حلال ہو جاتا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: یہ تمہارے نبی ﷺ کی سنت ہے، اگرچہ تمہیں ناگوار ہی گزرے۔
Abu Hasan kehte hain ki Banu Hajim ke ek aadmi ne Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se arz kiya: Aye Abul Abbas! Logon mein ye fatwa jo bahut mashhur hua hai iski kya haqiqat hai ki jo shakhs Baitullah ka tawaf kar le woh halal ho jata hai? Unhon ne farmaya: Ye tumhare Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki sunnat hai, agarche tumhen nagawar hi guzare.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَسَّانَ الْأَعْرَجَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي الْهُجَيْمِ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَا هَذِهِ الْفُتْيَا الَّتِي قَدْ تَشَغَّفَتْ أَوْ تَشَعَّبَتْ بِالنَّاسِ" أَنَّ مَنْ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ فَقَدْ حَلَّ، فَقَالَ: سُنَّةُ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِنْ رَغِمْتُمْ".
