The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3191
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) regarding the verse: "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it." (Al-Qiyamah 75:16) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to feel some difficulty at the time of revelation and used to move his lips with the intention of preserving the revelation. Saying this, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said to his student Sa'id ibn Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him), "I will show you how the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to move his lips." Then he imitated him, and Sa'id ibn Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) imitated him in front of his student. Anyway! Upon this, this verse was revealed: "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it. Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation. So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation. Then indeed, upon Us is its explanation." (Al-Qiyamah 75:16-19) "Do not move your tongue hastily (to memorize it), for it is upon Us to collect it and to give you the ability to recite it. When We have recited it, then follow its recitation. Then it is upon Us to explain it." After this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to recite it in the same way after Jibreel (peace be upon him) had left, just as Jibreel (peace be upon him) had taught him.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے آیت قرآنی: «﴿لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ﴾ [القيامة: 16] » ”آپ اپنی زبان کو جلدی جلدی مت حرکت دیا کریں۔“ کی تفسیر میں منقول ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نزول وحی کے وقت کچھ سختی محسوس کرتے تھے اور وحی کو محفوظ کرنے کے خیال سے اپنے ہونٹوں کو ہلاتے رہتے تھے، یہ کہہ کر سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے اپنے شاگرد سعید بن جبیر رحمہ اللہ سے فرمایا کہ میں تمہیں اس طرح ہونٹ ہلا کر دکھاتا ہوں جیسے نبی ﷺ ہلاتے تھے، پھر ان کی نقل ان کے شاگرد سعید بن جبیر رحمہ اللہ نے اپنے شاگرد کے سامنے کی، بہرحال! اس پر یہ آیت نازل ہوئی: «﴿لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ o إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ o فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ o ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ﴾ [القيامة: 16-19] » ”آپ اپنی زبان کو جلدی جلدی مت حرکت دیا کریں، اس قرآن کو آپ کے سینے میں جمع کرنا اور آپ کی زبانی اسے پڑھوانا ہماری ذمہ داری ہے، جب ہم پڑھ رہے ہوں تو آپ خاموش رہ کر اسے توجہ سے سنئے، پھر اس کی وضاحت بھی ہمارے ذمہ ہے۔“ اس کے بعد نبی ﷺ جبرئیل علیہ السلام کے واپس چلے جانے کے بعد اسی طرح پڑھ کر سنا دیا کرتے تھے جیسے حضرت جبرئیل علیہ السلام نے نبی ﷺ کو پڑھایا ہوتا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se aayat qurani: «﴿La tuharrik bihi lisanaka lita'jala bihi﴾ [alqiyamah: 16] » ”aap apni zaban ko jaldi jaldi mut harkat diya karein۔“ ki tafseer mein manqol hai keh nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) nuzool wahi ke waqt kuchh sakhti mehsoos karte the aur wahi ko mahfooz karne ke khayal se apne honton ko hilate rahte the, yeh keh kar Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne apne shagird Saeed bin Jubair Rahmatullah Alaih se farmaya keh mein tumhein is tarah hont hila kar dikhaata hun jaise nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hilate the, phir un ki naql un ke shagird Saeed bin Jubair Rahmatullah Alaih ne apne shagird ke samne ki, baharhaal! is par yeh aayat nazil hui: «﴿La tuharrik bihi lisanaka lita'jala bihi o inna 'alaina jam'ahu waqur'anahu o fa-izaa qara'nahu fattabi' qur'anahu o thumma inna 'alaina bayanahu﴾ [alqiyamah: 16-19] » ”aap apni zaban ko jaldi jaldi mut harkat diya karein, is quran ko aap ke seene mein jama karna aur aap ki zubani ise padhwana hamari zimmedari hai, jab hum padh rahe hon to aap khamosh reh kar ise tawajjuh se suniye, phir is ki wazahat bhi hamari zimme hai.“ is ke baad nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Jibra'il Alaihissalam ke wapas chale jaane ke baad isi tarah padh kar suna diya karte the jaise Hazrat Jibra'il Alaihissalam ne nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko padhaya hota.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: لا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ سورة القيامة آية 16، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَالِجُ مِنَ التَّنْزِيلِ شِدَّةً، فَكَانَ يُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيْهِ قَالَ: فَقَالَ لِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَا أُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيَّ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَرِّكُ. وَقَالَ لِي سَعِيدٌ أَنَا أُحَرِّكُ كَمَا رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيْهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ سورة القيامة آية 16 - 17، قَالَ: جَمْعَهُ فِي صَدْرِكَ، ثُمَّ تَقْرَأَه فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ سورة القيامة آية 18 فَاسْتَمِعْ لَهُ وَأَنْصِتْ: ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ سورة القيامة آية 19 فَكَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ إِذَا انْطَلَقَ جِبْرِيلُ، قَرَأَهُ كَمَا أَقْرَأَهُ.
