ومن مسند بني هاشم
The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3208
Abu Bakhtari said: "Once we were in Dhat Irq when the moon of Ramadan was sighted. We sent a man to Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, to ask him about it. Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, replied that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has prolonged it until the moon is sighted."

ابوالبختری کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایک مرتبہ ذات عرق میں تھے کہ رمضان کا چاند نظر آ گیا، ہم نے ایک آدمی کو سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس یہ مسئلہ پوچھنے کے لئے بھیجا، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے اس کے جواب میں فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے اسے چاند دیکھنے تک طویل کیا ہے۔
Abualbakhtari kehte hain ki hum aik martaba zaat araq mein thay ki Ramazan ka chand nazar aa gaya, hum ne aik aadmi ko sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke pass ye masla poochhne ke liye bheja, sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne uske jawab mein farmaya ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use chand dekhne tak tawil kya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، قَالَ: تَرَاءَيْنَا هِلَالَ رَمَضَانَ بِذَاتِ عِرْقٍ، فَأَرْسَلْنَا رَجُلًا إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فَسَأَلَهُ، فَقَالَ:" إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَدَّهُ إِلَى رُؤْيَتِهِ".
