The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3224
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that a woman vowed to perform Hajj, but she died before fulfilling it. Her brother came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked him about this matter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Tell me, if your sister had a debt, would you pay it off or not?" He replied in the affirmative. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then pay off the debt of Allah as well, for He is more deserving and worthy of having it fulfilled."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک عورت نے حج کی منت مانی، لیکن اسے پورا کرنے سے پہلے ہی فوت ہو گئی، اس کا بھائی نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور نبی ﷺ سے یہ مسئلہ دریافت کیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”یہ بتاؤ! اگر تمہاری بہن پر کوئی قرض ہو تو کیا تم اسے ادا کرو گے یا نہیں؟“ اس نے اثبات میں جواب دیا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”پھر اللہ کا قرض بھی ادا کرو اور وہ پورا کرنے کے زیادہ لائق اور حقدار ہے۔“
Sayyidaana Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai keh aik aurat ne Hajj ki mannat maani lekin use poora karne se pehle hi faut ho gai us ka bhai Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hua aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se yeh masla daryaft kiya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya yeh batao agar tumhari behen par koi qarz ho to kya tum use ada karoge ya nahin us ne isbat mein jawab diya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya phir Allah ka qarz bhi ada karo aur wo poora karne ke zyada layaq aur haqdaar hai
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أُخْتِي نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَحُجَّ، وَقَدْ مَاتَتْ؟ قَالَ:" أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا دَيْنٌ، أَكُنْتَ تَقْضِيهِ؟" قَالَ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ:" فَاللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى أَحَقُّ بِالْوَفَاءِ".
