The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3238
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The obligation of Allah regarding Hajj has become due upon my father, but he has become so old that he cannot even sit on a mount. Can I perform Hajj on his behalf?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ قبیلہ خثعم کی ایک عورت نبی ﷺ کے پاس آئی اور کہنے لگی: یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! حج کے معاملے میں میرے والد پر اللہ کا فریضہ عائد ہو چکا ہے، لیکن وہ اتنے بوڑھے ہو چکے ہیں کہ سواری پر بھی نہیں بیٹھ سکتے، کیا میں ان کی طرف سے حج کر سکتی ہوں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں!“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas razi Allah anhuma se marvi hai ki qabila khatham ki ek aurat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas aai aur kahne lagi: Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)! Hajj ke mamle mein mere walid par Allah ka fariza aaid ho chuka hai, lekin woh itne budhe ho chuken hain ki sawari par bhi nahin baith sakte, kya main un ki taraf se Hajj kar sakti hun? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “ Haan!”.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمَ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبَاهَا شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا، لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَثْبُتَ عَلَى الرَّحْلِ، أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ:" نَعَمْ".
