The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 3261
Ata bin Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When Umm al-Mu'minin Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), the maternal aunt of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), passed away, I went with him to Sarif. After praising and glorifying Allah, Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “She is one of the Mothers of the Believers. When you carry her bier, do not move it swiftly, nor shake it, for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had nine wives (may Allah be pleased with them all) among whom he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would divide his time, (Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) being one of them), except for one wife whom he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would not visit (with her permission and consent).” Ata said: “The wife to whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not assign a day was Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her).” (However, according to the majority of scholars, it was Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her). And Allah knows best).

عطاء بن ابی رباح رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کی خالہ ام المومنین سیدہ میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا فوت ہو گئیں، میں ان کے ساتھ مقام سرف گیا، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما اللہ کی حمد و ثنا کے بعد فرمانے لگے: یہ ام المومنین ہیں، جب تم ان کا جنازہ اٹھاؤ تو چارپائی کو تیزی سے حرکت نہ دینا اور نہ ہی اسے ہلانا، کیونکہ نبی ﷺ کی نو ازواج مطہرات تھیں، جن میں سے آپ ﷺ آٹھ کو باری دیا کرتے (ان میں سیدہ میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا بھی شامل تھیں) اور ایک زوجہ کو (ان کی اجازت اور مرضی کے مطابق) باری نہیں ملتی تھی۔ عطاء کہتے ہیں کہ جس زوجہ محترمہ کی باری مقرر نہیں تھی، وہ سیدہ صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا تھیں، (لیکن جمہور محققین کی رائے کے مطابق وہ سیدہ سودہ رضی اللہ عنہا تھیں۔ واللہ اعلم)۔
Ata bin Abi Rabah rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ki khala Ummul Momineen Sayyida Maimoona ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) فوت ہو گئیں، main un ke sath maqam Saraf gaya, Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a Allah ki hamd o sana ke baad farmane lage: Ye Ummul Momineen hain, jab tum in ka janaza uthao to charpai ko tezi se harkat na dena aur na hi ise hilana, kyunki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki nau azwaj muttahhirat thin, jin mein se aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aath ko baari diya karte (in mein Sayyida Maimoona ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) bhi shamil thin) aur ek zauja ko (in ki ijazat aur marzi ke mutabiq) baari nahin milti thi. Ata kehte hain ke jis zauja muhtarama ki baari muqarrar nahin thi, woh Sayyida Safiya ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) thin, (lekin jumhoor muhaqqiqeen ki rae ke mutabiq woh Sayyida Sauda ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) thin. Wallahu a'lam).
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، خَالَةَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، تُوُفِّيَتْ، قَالَ: فَذَهَبْتُ مَعَهُ إِلَى سَرِفَ، قَالَ:" فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ، وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَا تُزَعْزِعُوا بِهَا، وَلَا تُزَلْزِلُوا، ارْفُقُوا، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ تِسْعُ نِسْوَةٍ، فَكَانَ يَقْسِمُ لِثَمَانٍ، وَلَا يَقْسِمُ لِلتَّاسِعَةِ". يُرِيدُ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ. قَالَ عَطَاءٌ كَانَتْ آخِرَهُنَّ مَوْتًا، مَاتَتْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ.
